STORY MODE Unlocks
STORY MODE began on December 16th, 2010. It is similar to SIRIUS's PARTY mode. This mode is for one player only and is Single Play exclusive. Like in PARTY mode, score graphs and layers above the movie are absent and instead replaced with chibis of either Celica or Erika in the center of the video screen.

At the beginning of STORY mode, players choose from one of five difficulty levels, which determines which charts for Eternal Tears and Medicine of love you'll unlock upon completing chapters two and three, respectively (LEVEL 1-2 for NORMAL, LEVEL 3-4 for HYPER, LEVEL 5 for ANOTHER). Single and Double charts unlock together and individual charts have to be unlocked one at a time.

There are three chapters in STORY mode, with six stages each. The goal is to clear a set number of songs from a limited list of songs to advance to the next stage of the story, increasing the difficulty for the songs and its requirement as you progress. Any modifiers can be used to clear the stages, including STYLE (RANDOM, S-RANDOM, and MIRROR), but not ASSIST (AUTO-SCRATCH, 5KEYS, and LEGACY NOTE) or GAUGE (EASY or HARD).

STORY MODE unlocks
The list of the stages and the quota of the number of songs are as follows (BEGINNER levels will be rated as 1-3 for the sake of convenience):
STORY MODE began on December 16th, 2010. Both songs were unlocked by default as of March 2nd, 2011 (beat #FREE).

  • Theme: Summer resort
  • New default songs are colored blue, but new songs unlocked from JAPAN TOUR and WORLD TOUR are colored red, and Lincle LINK songs are colored in yellow.
    • As a result, Resort Anthem is the only arcade beatmania IIDX game to use more than two colors for new song's text in the song wheel.
  • Song wheel is now circular instead of vertical, similar to the DanceDanceRevolution series prior to X2.
    • Only beatmania IIDX game since the introduction of the songwheel in 2nd style to modify the songwheel layout. The songwheel was reverted back to being fully vertical in Lincle.
  • In-game score, stage, HI-SPEED, and BPM displays now feature a new font.
  • In the location test, new songs featured black background and white text on the splash screens, like older beatmania IIDX songs. The final version restores the white background with black text for new songs.
  • First beatmania IIDX game where all game modes can be played on Double, as opposed to limited game modes in previous games (STANDARD/EXPERT or CLASS/FREE)
  • First beatmania IIDX game to support PASELI.
    • Also the first game to allow the player to log in with their eAMUSEMENT card without inserting credits. This is to allow the player to choose between paying with PASELI or credits; upon choosing a mode, either will be deducted.
  • Two new modes introduced:
    • PREMIUM FREE: the player plays for eight minutes as opposed to two stages. A song in-game can be canceled by pressing the EFFECT and VEFX buttons simultaneously, though the time spent during the song still counts as part of the eight minutes. Requires PASELI.
    • MISSION: beat various missions to earn more DELLAR. Requires PASELI.
  • First beatmania IIDX game since DistorteD to not have any CS exclusive songs transplanted.
  • First beatmania IIDX game since HAPPY SKY to not have multiple EXTRA STAGEs.
    • Also the first beatmania IIDX to have a game exclusive event, a trend that continues to this day.
  • First beatmania IIDX game since Tetsuya Tamura's debut where he doesn't compose a new song under his Y&Co. alias.
  • Final beatmania IIDX game with a end-game credits scroll.
  • Final beatmania IIDX game to have songs unlocked by beat# phases. Beginning in the next arcade release, songs are gradually added via updates periodically.
    • Also the final beatmania IIDX game with Backside Expert Courses.
  • Final beatmania IIDX game with the Overall DJ Level performance screen appearing at the end of the screen.
    • Also the final beatmania IIDX until RESIDENT game with results screen pics on Dan / Class mode.
    • Also the final beatmania IIDX game with the mode confirmation selection screen. However, the final game with the mode select transition screen would be Lincle.
  • Final beatmania IIDX game to award player bonus scores (such as getting ALL GREATS or finish a song on BORDER).
  • 狂热节拍IIDX is based on the interface of this game.
  • Total songs: 643

JAPAN TOUR

JAPAN TOUR is beatmania IIDX 18 Resort Anthem's first unlock event, which started on September 29th, 2010. eAMUSEMENT is required to play the event.

The purpose of JAPAN TOUR is to use DELLAR you acquire by playing the game to unlock content through one of four different routes: NORMAL, HYPER, ANOTHER, and OTHER. The NORMAL, HYPER, and ANOTHER paths have ten things to unlock, while SECRET WORLD has seven. Each pathway has its own DELLAR requirements. To unlock everything in JAPAN TOUR, you'll need to acquire a total of 18,500 DELLAR.

Only the new songs are shared in placement order for the first three pathways; the rest have their own unique unlocks. OTHER, meanwhile, only contains revivals and new charts for older songs.

Please see the TOUR unlocks page for full DELLAR requirements.

Unlocks are listed in order.

Other Unlocks

The list of the stages and the quota of the number of songs are as follows [1] (BEGINNER levels will be rated as 1-3 for the sake of convenience):
