DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX

Release Information

  • Release Dates:
    • November 20th, 2003
    • March 5th, 2005 (Platinum Family Hits)

General Information / Changes

  • First DanceDanceRevolution title on the Xbox video game console.
  • Game interface uses a very modified DDRMAX2 -DanceDanceRevolution 7thMIX- as its source.
  • Similar to DDRMAX -DanceDanceRevolution 6thMIX- through EXTREME, jumps count as 2 steps for combo purposes. This would continue throughout all of the Xbox titles.
  • Unlike the arcade/PlayStation/PlayStation 2 DanceDanceRevolution titles, there is no stage numbers. You can play as many songs as you like without pause or options set.
  • First CS DanceDanceRevolution release with DLC, allowing you to download new song packs at $4.99 each.
    • Song packs mostly contain old DanceDanceRevolution songs and new BEMANI crossovers never been seen in DanceDanceRevolution.
  • DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX is the only Xbox DanceDanceRevolution title to use the trademark songwheel used in many other DanceDanceRevolution titles.
    • It's also the only one to use backgrounds videos from the arcade DanceDanceRevolution games. Beginning with DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX2, the ULTRAMIX series would use its own generic video clips.
  • The dancers no longer dance according to the song's BPM, instead dancing to a fixed speed. This would be the norm for every Xbox and Xbox 360 title.
  • The original version of AFTER THE GAME OF LOVE is used, as opposed to the edited version AFTER THE GAME that was used in DanceDanceRevolution KONAMIX.
  • No songs have BEGINNER or CHALLENGE charts, even those in the latter that had them originally.
  • Total songs: 51
