MPB stands for Música Popular Brasileira, or simply put, it is a hybrid Brazilian popular music style that incorporates elements of other genres of music while incorporating bossa nova techniques.<br>
With the recent boom in Brazilian music, MPB has been attracting a lot of attention, and the name of this genre has become more and more common, with MPB corners being set up in major CD stores.
 
MPB is my favorite genre and one of my biggest influences, so I have written songs that have that kind of vibe for [[Nova emocao|MAMBO A GO GO]] and [[Brazilian Anthem|Gitadora]].<br>
So, this song is the third in the MPB series! However, the direction is a little different from the previous two works, and Tizona is based on Spanish music.<br>
The guitar is closer to that of Spanish in scale and stroke technique rather than a bossa nova approach.<br>
The keyboard instruments have a 70's fusion feel, with many modulations and complex tension notes in the key signatures.
 
Conclusion! I knew Brazilian music was good.

Tizona d'El Cid is a sword that belonged to El Cid, the 11th century Spanish hero of La Reconquista.<br>
I imagined that after El Cid's death, the sword passed through the hands of various people and finally ended up in the hands of a beautiful gypsy dancer, and I created this piece by overlaying the scene of La Reconquista and the dancer's graceful movements.<br>
I originally wrote this song for IIDX, but in the vein of "Brazilian Anthem", I reworked the drum pattern and other aspects of the song for Gitadora as well.
