== General Information / Changes ==
* Difficulty scale has been expanded to 1-13. All charts previously rated Level 10+ have had their rating changed to either 11 or 12 depending on their individual difficulty.
* A new type of Object, the Slide Object, is introduced.
** Some songs received new charts containing Slide and Vertical Objects, and are highlighted as RENEWAL charts in the music selection screen.
* BPM was not shown on the song select screen initially. However, the BPM display was restored on January 27th, 2016.
* Default maximum difficulty is now 7 for ROUND 1, 9 for ROUND 2, and 12 for FINAL ROUND, versus 8-10-10+ of earlier games.
* All songs from [[AC RB groovin'!!|REFLEC BEAT groovin'!!]] are available by default, except for [[Ryuu to shoujo to decoherence|龍と少女とデコヒーレンス]] ([[Coca-Cola×BEMANI]]) and [[FLOOR INFECTION]] songs.

= Pastel-kun to Gakkii-hakase no dokidoki rhythm kenkyujou (パステルくんとガッキー博士のドキドキリズム研究所) =
''Pastel-kun to Gakkii-hakase no dokidoki rhythm kenkyujou'' is REFLEC BEAT VOLZZA's main unlock event. The event centers around collecting material parts that can be assembled together to make an instrument, which unlocks a song that corresponds to it.

After each credit, Pastel will collect 10 material parts of an instrument, with two more awarded for matchmaking. For each time a song is matched, there's a chance a Pastel might appear next to the facility during the map selection screen. Multiple matches increase the chances for it to appear, and the appearance for which location is chosen at random.

These material parts will then be converted into a gauge to fill, with a certain set of material parts to fill it. All the material parts will be consumed during filling, but by choosing the correct material type for the instrument, the gauge will boost. By filling the gauge completely, the player will unlock songs. At first, [[Journey]] could only be selected on its first credit as part of the tutorial, but additional songs were available upon the second credit and on added phases, and if the players had unlocked all the songs for a particular phase, a final song was available for unlock.

The event ended on March 24th, 2016 on the release of [[AC RB VOLZZA 2|REFLEC BEAT VOLZZA 2]].

== ULTIMATE SURVIVAL ==
The ULTIMATE SURVIVAL event started on December 18th, 2015. It is a battle-type event among six [[beatnation Records|beatnation RHYZE]] members and six [[HARDCORE TANO*C]] members. The event takes place in two rounds with three STAGES per round.

On the EXTRA ROUND (FINAL ROUND on coin play), the ULTIMATE SURVIVAL folder will appear with all the 12 below-listed songs available. By playing any one of the songs, a gauge will be filled for that song, which is filled by every REFLEC BEAT player. Once the gauge has been filled to the SAFETY ZONE, the song is considered safe and will continue to be available in the next STAGE. If the song did not reach the SAFETY ZONE after the STAGE ends, the artist will be eliminated and their song will not be available to play in the event permanently from the next STAGE onwards. Eliminated songs can be purchased using VOLZZA KEYs after the round ends.

In the first round, artists who cleared the FINAL STAGE will move on to the second round to write a new song each, and their songs will be immediately unlocked. Artists who were eliminated will be subject to a forfeit game to be announced. All songs also received SPECIAL charts when the round ended.

To unlock the following songs, players must raise the Chikuwa Gauge (ちくわゲージ) playing [[HinaBitter|ひなビタ♪]] songs. Do note that each song has its own Chikuwa Gauge, and that the songs must be unlocked on each participant game (progress does not carry over to other games).

Only 日向美ビタースイーツ♪ songs are eligible to raise the Chikuwa Gauge (except [[Kimochi connect|キモチコネクト]], [[Two man live|ツーマンライブ]], and songs unlocked through this event). Depending if the 日向美ビタースイーツ♪ song features a solo member (i.e. [[neko*neko|neko＊neko]]), two members (i.e. [[Horobi ni itaru ellampsis|滅びに至るエランプシス]]), or all members (i.e. [[Chocolate smile|チョコレートスマイル]]), the Chikuwa Gauge will raise by different amounts:

* Solo songs will raise 2/3 of the Gauge for the character featured on the song.
* Duet songs will raise 1/3 of the Gauge for both characters featured.
