All the unlocks in pop'n music portable 2 are obtained through a mode called PARTY MODE. In it, you control either Nyami or Mimi as you movie across a map in a RPG-style fashion while finding friends to come to a party by request of MZD. | |||
On your travels across the board, you'll find other pop'n music characters, treasure chests containing various items (keys, skins, key items that will help you travel the board, etc.), switches, locked doors that you need to open with a key, and various other traps that you'll need points to traverse. | |||
You start off at Level 1, severely limited your travels on the board, but you can grow in levels as you find other character on the board and beat them at TAISEN MODE. Once you find enough people (typically three), you can then play a round of TAISEN MODE with them. Win, and you can unlock new songs and maybe grow a level,. You can also invite other characters before beginning TAISEN MODE as well (at the cost of 200 points), which will reduce the difficulty of your opponents. However, to invite other people to the party, you must first find them on the map and beat them with set OJAMAs. Win, and you'll earn points and have the option of inviting them to MZD's parties when they unlock. You might even get an item. | |||
