I like old ballads.
R&B ballads, especially ones from the 90s, have a place in my heart.
At that time, they really appealed to me.

In the past, I've made some ballads for these games, but they never really seemed to fit in.
So yes, the challenge for TЁЯRA was to make one.
I think a lot a people were surprised by this?

Above all, a ballad allows me to express my feelings.

This is my first ballad in IIDX.
Is this a surprise to you?

This song is another one in NAOKI's body of work.
When I listened to a demo of it, the warm and gentle melodies grabbed my attention.
I imagined myself in front of a landscape.

Light, pale clouds... a fantastic location.
Whiteness surrounds the rest of the landscape.
In it, we walk hand in hand.
Silence, except for the echo of out footsteps.

I thought this area would be in a desert.
I imagined two people, pledging their eternal love together.
This image, which I tried to keep in my mind, helped me in writing the lyrics.

...by the way, the title, PROMISE FOR LIFE...

...doesn't really have a meaning to it.

It was a bit of a "trick". It was a first attempt for people to solve it.
Surely, it was a surprise to you.
