FINAL STAGE/EXTRA STAGE/ENCORE EXTRA STAGE

Compared to previous DanceDanceRevolution titles, SuperNOVA2 has a more complicated EXTRA STAGE and ENCORE EXTRA STAGE system, with eligibility this time involving pre-FINAL STAGE(s). It is now possible to access the EXTRA STAGE and ENCORE EXTRA STAGE on BEGINNER, BASIC, and DIFFICULT difficulties.

  • As a result, setting the maximum stage to 1 will treat its FINAL STAGE as a normal stage and will not grant access the EXTRA STAGE and ENCORE EXTRA STAGE.

FINAL STAGE

Case 1:

  • Getting at least one A rank (but not AA or AAA ranks) on any pre-FINAL STAGE will allow access to Boss songs (including unlocked ones), but limited to the same difficulty level as the song with the A rank. In the case of multiple A ranks among different difficulty levels, the highest difficulty level with the A rank (BEGINNER being the lowest and EXPERT being the highest) will be the only difficulty level available for Boss songs.
    • Even if the A rank was achieved on a CHALLENGE chart on any pre-FINAL STAGE, only the EXPERT chart of Boss songs will be available.

How to access the EXTRA STAGE from here:

  • Get a AA rank on any Boss song on the only available difficulty or AA a RANDOM song on the same difficulty level.
    • Choosing a RANDOM song on any other difficulty level and getting a AA rank will not grant access to the EXTRA STAGE.


Case 2:

  • Getting at least a AA rank on any difficulty level on any pre-FINAL STAGE will allow access to Boss songs (including unlocked ones) with BEGINNER, BASIC, DIFFICULT, and EXPERT charts available.
    • CHALLENGE charts are not available.

How to access the EXTRA STAGE from here:

  • Get a AA rank on any Boss song on any difficulty or AA a RANDOM song any difficulty level.
    • The difficulty level chosen will be the same difficulty level as the EXTRA STAGE.

EXTRA STAGE

  • Accessed by achieving at least a AA rank on the FINAL STAGE of either case above.
  • Will be only played on the same difficulty level as the FINAL STAGE.
  • Any song can be chosen.
  • Modifiers are allowed.
  • Will be played on a Challenge Dance Meter instead of the usual Pressure Dance Meter from previous EXTRA STAGE systems.
    • 1 to 4 lives are given, depending on the FINAL STAGE score.
    • 990,000 to 1,000,000 = 4 lives
    • 975,000 to 989,990 = 3 lives
    • 962,500 to 974,990 = 2 lives
    • 0 to 962,500 = 1 life
    • If one player, but not the other, achieves access to the EXTRA STAGE in Versus Mode, the other player gets 1 life.

ENCORE EXTRA STAGE

  • Accessed by achieving at least a AA rank on any Boss song or RANDOM song for the EXTRA STAGE.
  • Will be only played on the same difficulty level as the EXTRA STAGE.
  • Any song can be chosen.
  • Modifiers are not allowed.
  • Will be played on Sudden Death (Challenge Dance Meter with 1 life), regardless of EXTRA STAGE score.

Beginner Mode

Beginner Mode offers a smaller list of songs than Standard Mode. All difficulties levels are the same as Standard Mode. EDIT DATA is not available.

  • Go to GRAPHICS OPTION (グラフィックオプション).
  • Change DANCER DISPLAY (ダンサーディスプレイ) to OFF (オフ).
  • Change BRIGHTNESS (背景の明るさ) to 65%.
  • Change ARROW COLOR (初期矢印カラー) to FLAT.
  • Go into SCREEN ADJUSTMENT (スクリーン調整).
  • Plug in a controller in the 2P slot and enter the KONAMI code: ↑↑↓↓←→←→X.

The costumes and characters are now unlocked in the SHOP.
