GROOVE RADAR Special Songs
FINAL STAGE/EXTRA STAGE/ENCORE EXTRA STAGE Songs
The "GROOVE RADAR" Special songs are a set of six unlockable songs using the new e-AMUSEMENT members only feature, My GROOVE RADAR (Myグルーヴレーダー). They are all previously released songs by Naoki Maeda from DanceDanceRevolution 2ndMIX, 3rdMIX, 4thMIX, and DDRMAX2 with new CHALLENGE charts. Due to some of them having already CHALLENGE charts, these new special CHALLENGE charts were added individually in the SuperNOVA2 folder under their "GROOVE RADAR" Special related subtitles instead, with no other difficulty.
In SuperNOVA2, the requirements for EXTRA STAGE changed, and the ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE was renamed to ENCORE EXTRA STAGE.

The first five songs are each associated to one of the GROOVE RADAR five parameters: STREAM, CHAOS, FREEZE, AIR and VOLTAGE. When a parameter reaches 100, the corresponding song is unlocked. In order to raise each parameter to 100, the player have to play songs that contain a high value of that parameter. In the case of DEAD END, it requires to have filled all of the five parameters to 100 in order to unlock it. On April 10th, 2008, the unlock period expired and these songs have been unlocked for normal play for everyone.
You must get a A on the 1st or 2nd STAGE to unlock hidden song(s) for the FINAL STAGE. Getting an A allow the player to unlock the easiest difficulty played, while a AA unlocks all difficulty levels. Getting a AA or higher on Unreal, or the FINAL song on RANDOM, earns the player the ability to play NGO. Getting a AA on NGO unlocks TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX for the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE. As time went on, new songs were added via e-AMUSEMENT as playable songs, initially only playable on ENCORE EXTRA STAGE at first. Overtime the songs would move down to EXTRA STAGE, then FINAL STAGE, and then made playable for everyone.

The available difficulties for FINAL STAGE songs depend on the grade the player obtains on any stage prior to reaching the FINAL STAGE:
* AA or AAA: all difficulties except CHALLENGE are playable.
* A on any difficulty: only that difficulty is available (does not include CHALLENGE). If an A is obtained on CHALLENGE difficulty, EXPERT will be available for the FINAL STAGE.
By clearing the above songs (or RANDOM, using the available difficulties for NGO) during the FINAL STAGE with a grade of at least AA, the player will advance to the EXTRA STAGE. Upon reaching the EXTRA STAGE, the player must select either one of the below listed songs using their available difficulty and obtain AA or better to be qualified for the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE afterwards.
LIFE GAUGE is restricted to LIFE4 on EXTRA/ENCORE EXTRA STAGE; the number of lives during the EXTRA STAGE is based on the score obtained in the FINAL STAGE: 1 for below 962,490, two for 962,500-974,999, three for 975,000-989,990, and four for 990,000 or more.

FINAL STAGE/EXTRA STAGE/ENCORE EXTRA STAGE Songs
In SuperNOVA2, the requirements for the EXTRA STAGE changed, and the ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE was renamed ENCORE EXTRA STAGE. At first, the player had to get A on the 1st or 2nd STAGE to unlock hidden song(s) for the FINAL STAGE. Getting an A allow the player to unlock the easiest difficulty played while a AA unlocks all difficulty levels. Getting a AA or higher on Unreal, or the FINAL song on Random, earns the player the EXTRA STAGE - NGO (for example). Getting a AA on NGO unlocks TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX as the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE.
At the launch of the game, these 3 songs were selected to be part of the system to get to the EXTRA STAGE and ENCORE EXTRA STAGE. As time went on, new songs were added via e-AMUSEMENT as playable songs for the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE at first. Following the time schedule below, the songs were moved gradually from being ENCORE EXTRA STAGE songs to the EXTRA STAGE, then to the FINAL STAGE before being completely unlocked for everyone on normal play.
The available difficulties for the songs Unreal, NGO, TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX, PARANOiA (HADES), Pluto, and Pluto Relinquish in the FINAL STAGE depend on the performance grade the player obtains on any stage prior to reaching the FINAL STAGE:
* AA or AAA: all difficulties except CHALLENGE
* A on any difficulty: only that difficulty is available (does not include CHALLENGE). If an A is obtained in CHALLENGE difficulty, EXPERT will be available for the FINAL STAGE.
By clearing the above songs (or RANDOM, using the available difficulties for NGO) during the FINAL STAGE with a grade of at least AA, the player will advance to the EXTRA STAGE.
Upon reaching the EXTRA STAGE, the player must select either NGO, TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX, PARANOiA (HADES), Pluto, or Pluto Relinquish using their available difficulty (or RANDOM, using the available difficulty for NGO) and obtain AA or better to be qualified for the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE afterwards.
During gameplay in the EXTRA STAGE, the LIFE GAUGE is restricted to LIFE4; the number of lives during the EXTRA STAGE is based on the score obtained in the FINAL STAGE.

    • Cut-ins are introduced, where a picture of the selected dancer appears after a set number of combos.
  • The EASY, MEDIUM, DIFFICULT, and ALL MUSIC modes from SuperNOVA have been combined into one mode called STANDARD.
  • e-AMUSEMENT support for DanceDanceRevolution SuperNOVA2 was planned for North America [1], but ultimately was only available during the location test on Brunswick Zone in Naperville, Illinois.
  • In the North American version, name entry for high scores has these regions selectable:
    • United States with 2-letter state abbreviation (e.g. "USA-IL")
    • Canada

    • "etc." for other territories

FINAL STAGE/EXTRA STAGE/ENCORE EXTRA STAGE Songs

In SuperNOVA2, the requirements for EXTRA STAGE changed, and the ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE was renamed to ENCORE EXTRA STAGE.

  • AA or AAA: all difficulties except CHALLENGE are playable.
  • A on any difficulty: only that difficulty is available (does not include CHALLENGE).

GROOVE RADAR Special songs

The "GROOVE RADAR" Special songs are a set of six unlockable songs using the new e-AMUSEMENT members only feature, My GROOVE RADAR (Myグルーヴレーダー). They are old DanceDanceRevolution songs with new CHALLENGE charts. (Even for some that previously already had CHALLENGE charts.) These songs all appear in the SuperNOVA2 folder.

The first five songs are each associated with one of the GROOVE RADAR five parameters: STREAM, CHAOS, FREEZE, AIR and VOLTAGE. When a parameter reaches 100, the corresponding song is unlocked. In order to raise each parameter to 100, the player have to play songs that contain a high value of that parameter. In the case of DEAD END, you have to fill all five parameters to 100.

On April 10th, 2008, all the GROOVE RADAR Special songs were unlocked by default.

ZUKIN WARS was a monthly event exclusive to e-AMUSEMENT members. You're assigned to one of three teams - Red, Yellow, and Green. Before FINAL STAGE, you'll receive a message with specific instructions. Complete the mission, and you'll defeat what the game calls "Dark Dancers". Defeating a certain amount will unlock a new song. Everyone on that team will also receive that song. Teams who did not win will receive the song a week later.
