''POLICY BREAK'' was a collaboration event that started in [[AC SDVX II|SOUND VOLTEX II -infinite infection-]].


The ''POLICY BREAK'' event is a collaboration that started in [[SOUND VOLTEX II -infinite infection-]] and the following other BEMANI titles: [[AC GITADORA|GITADORA]], [[jubeat saucer]], [[PnM AC SP|pop'n music Sunny Park]], [[REFLEC BEAT colette]] and ''Steel Chronicle VICTROOPERS'' (スティールクロニクル VICTROOPERS). As new versions of these series were released, the event was carried over to the newest titles. Since November 20th, 2014, the songs can be unlocked in [[SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS]]. On August 7th, 2015, [[AC PENDUAL|beatmania IIDX 22 PENDUAL]] was added to the event.  
In the POLICY BREAK event, a song from each BEMANI series (or Steel Chronicle) is crossed over to SOUND VOLTEX. The POLICY BREAK event requires the player to play eight rounds of the specified BEMANI game in order to unlock the BEMANI crossover in SOUND VOLTEX (or in the case of Steel Chronicle, a certain number of missions). Each event involves one song and generally lasts two weeks; after the allocated time period, the crossover cannot be unlocked again until it returns in the future.


In the POLICY BREAK event, a song representative of each BEMANI game is crossed over to SOUND VOLTEX II -infinite infection-. The POLICY BREAK event requires the player to play eight rounds of the specified BEMANI game in order to unlock the BEMANI crossover in SOUND VOLTEX. Each event contains one song and lasts generally two weeks; after the determined time period, the crossover cannot be unlocked anymore. Past POLICY BREAK events may be temporarily revived.
== Unlocking Method ==
In SOUND VOLTEX II -infinite infection-, players simply had to play either eight rounds of the specified BEMANI games (24 TUNES for jubeat, not counting BONUS TUNE) or complete 10 missions in Steel Chronicle, then play a full game of SOUND VOLTEX to "bank" the gauge progress. The objective is to fill the song's gauge to 100%. If a song has been revived, the BREAK gauge increases for all songs of the same series.
 
From [[AC SDVX III|SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS]] onwards, the "progress" is a definite resource and given a numerical value. The total BREAK POWER required to unlock a song is 24000Pw (18000Pw if two POLICY BREAK events from the same game debuted at the same time). The required number of plays is largely the same, but the BREAK POWER per game must now be used for one gauge at a time. This means that once a gauge is selected, all of the current BREAK POWER will be used up for that song. Moreover, jubeat counts per credit instead of per TUNE starting from [[AC jb Qubell|jubeat Qubell]], where the NORMAL MORE option was removed.
 
A full play of the specified BEMANI game gives 3000Pw (12.5%, 8 plays for songs with 24000Pw, 16.7%, 6 plays for songs with 18000Pw, 25%, 4 plays for songs with 12000Pw). Each Steel Chronicle mission completed gives 2400Pw (10%, 10 plays).
 
The event ended with part 49, with the final song, [[Himiko|卑弥呼]], added on July 2nd, 2020 through August 3rd, 2020. The last revival round of POLICY BREAK, which was for [[ENDYMION]], ran from November 26th, 2020 through December 27th, 2020. All POLICY BREAK songs can currently be purchased with PCB since April 25th, 2022 in [[AC SDVX EG|SOUND VOLTEX EXCEED GEAR]].
