pop'n music 8 CS's unlock system is called Sugoroku de 8 (すごろくde8) (sugoroku is a Japanese children's dice/board game); it will appear after your last song in ARCADE. To access it, you must beat a certain condition in that round, which is random every round (i.e. using speed mods, fulfilling certain point requirements, etc.). Successfully doing so unlocks the game after that round of ARCADE. Playing the game is simple; you simply roll a die, and pop'n music character P-1 will then move to the amount of spaces it lands in. For every three spaces you land on, you reach one of 18 cities in Japan. Almost every city has one of three different types of unlocks: songs, courses, and characters. The order you visit the cities are as follows:

Completing Sugoroku de 8 (100% completion rate) also unlocks the four title screen triggered songs, LIVE songs, expert course exclusive songs, and CS original song LATIN ENKA. It will also unlock te HELL the EIGHT course, the final unlock of the game.

Note that this is the ''only'' way to unlock CLASSIC 8 and TRAUMA PUNK outside of time unlock or completing Sugoroku de 8.

The following songs can be unlocked in ARCADE MODE by fulfilling certain requirements.

** Note: This will ''not'' work in NORMAL MODE, as POWER FOLK 6 appears on FINAL STAGE, maybe it impossible to unlock.

For those who don't want to go through the above, you can also turn the unlock system off and unlock songs based on time played in Arcade Mode. Note that ONLY time spend on actually playing the songs counts (not music select, results screens, or Game Over messages), and you cannot use Free Mode to pass time.

These charts will be available on the EX Stage if you earn the correct amount of challenge points in Challenge Mode. Playing them unlocks them for regular play. Every EX chart is available with a point score of 125 or more.

Enter these codes at the title screen to play them. Codes must be re-entered after every round of ARCADE or FREE MODE. The buttons correspond to the buttons on the pop'n music controller from left to right.
