Release Information
- Release date: February 25th, 1999
- First home pop'n music title, released on both Dreamcast and PlayStation.
- The only difference between the two versions are that the Dreamcast uses a time based unlock and the PlayStation uses the number of song plays instead.
- Retail value: 4,800 yen (without controller)

- Only pop'n CS game without Records mode.
- First pop'n music game with 5 BUTTON and 7 BUTTON modes, which autoplay notes for you (the white and yellow buttons on 5, and the white buttons on 7). Unlock Information
There are two unlock methods for pop'n music CS.
Play Unlocks (PlayStation only)
To unlock the hidden songs in the game, you have to clear Arcade mode a certain amount of times. Here is the order that songs are unlocked.
- BONUS TRACK: 50 plays
- J-POP: 60 plays
- TECHNO'80: 70 plays
- FUSION: 80 plays
- CLASSIC: 90 plays
- RAVE, AFRICA: 100 plays
Time Unlocks (Dreamcast only)
To unlock the hidden songs, you must play a certain amount of time. ONLY time in Arcade Mode playing songs counts towards time.
- J-POP: 2 hours
- AFRICA: 2.5 hours
- CLASSIC: 3 hours
- TECHNO '80: 3.5 hours
- FUSION: 4 hours
- BONUS TRACK: 4.5 hours
- RAVE: 5 hours
Individual Song Unlocks
- To unlock J-POP, play your first two STAGEs with female rivals (POPS for STAGE 1, and DISCO QUEEN, REGGAE, or DANCE for STAGE 2).
- To unlock AFRICA, clear RAP as your FIRST STAGE and REGGAE as your SECOND STAGE.
- To unlock CLASSIC, clear FANTASY as your FIRST STAGE and LATIN as your SECOND STAGE.
- To unlock TECHNO '80, clear J-TEKNO as your FIRST STAGE with the GOOD/BAD rhythm meter with a borderline pass.
- To unlock FUSION, play as BAMBOO.
- To unlock BONUS TRACK, clear a STAGE where the last digits of the GREAT, GOOD, and BAD numbers spell out either 5-7-3 or 3-7-5.
- To unlock RAVE, play J-TEKNO as your FIRST STAGE and DANCE for your SECOND STAGE, obtaining 85% or more GREATs on both songs.
Other Unlocks
- RANDOM, SUDDEN, and MIRROR: clear every song once to unlock these modifiers.
- HYPER charts: to unlock the HYPER charts of Con te sabi 2119, Water Melon Woman, and Chaos Age, unlock and clear all 19 songs in pop'n music CS, then press SELECT on any of these three songs. You should hear a sound effect if you did it correctly.
