While we're on the subject of Dancemania, I've been still waiting for someone to post the Japanese DDR SuperNOVA cabinets that supposedly still mentioned KONAMI having a deal with TOSHIBA-EMI, since I'm pretty sure KONAMI just individually licensed tracks starting with SuperNOVA. So I'd say it's reasonable to assume no deal was in place when the game released. I can't find a video of the attract sequence though.
