General Information
- Released: Early 2000
- First game in the series to run on BEMANI FIREBEAT HARDWARE, the same game engine used for beatmania III, Keyboard Mania, and ee-mall. The colors and graphics were noticeably more colorful and more detailed than ever as a result of the more powerful hardware. This game engine would be used up until Pop'n Music 8.
- Tatsuya Furukawa (good-cool) and Seiya Murai (V.C.O., Kiyommy&Seiya, Natural Bear) make their Pop'n Music debuts.
- Koga Hiroki (Naya-n) starts wriring his own music for the series.
- Seiya Murai wrote/remixed 8 songs for this game, more than any other artist did for a single Pop'n Music game in the series.
- Mimi and Nyami are squashed down a little more, and look cuter and more "chibi"-like.
