To celebrate the 10 years of the series, all the previous boss songs received brand new CHALLENGE-only charts. These new versions are known as X-Special songs. | |||
Although the EXTRA STAGE was introduced in DanceDanceRevolution, it only made a come-back in DDRMAX. Thus, only the boss songs from DDRMAX to EXTREME are exactly in the same order as they were in their original games. For the other games, the "hardest" songs from each game were selected instead. | |||
A total of 8 set of 2 songs each from DanceDanceRevolution to EXTREME, with also 2 songs representing DanceDanceRevolution X were made. The first set was released on December 24th, 2008 and on March 16, 2009 for the remaining sets. Each set have one EXTRA STAGE and one ENCORE EXTRA STAGE song.
