General Information / Changes

  • Interface is "computerized", with a lot of white and aqua.
  • First BEMANI release with the 2003-2013 KONAMI logo, two months after taking effect worldwide on April 1st, 2003.
  • First beatmania IIDX style on new PC-based architecture, which was universally blamed for timing problems in a number of songs.
  • First beatmania IIDX style to feature e-AMUSEMENT card readers to save scores and basic clear status.
  • First beatmania IIDX style to keep track of your MAX COMBO in-song.
  • First beatmania IIDX arcade style to have BEGINNER MODE; only shows Level 1 songs for your first stage, and Level 2 songs for your second stage, etc.
  • First beatmania IIDX style to support KONAMI ID system.
  • First beatmania IIDX style with WEEKLY RANKING.
  • Last beatmania IIDX style to have bikini pictures in the results screens.
  • Last beatmania IIDX style to have PLAY OPTIONS on title screen.
  • Last beatmania IIDX style to not remove any songs from the previous version.
  • DJ names for high scores were extended from 4 to 6 characters.
  • Only arcade beatmania IIDX not to have any effector options.
  • The beatmania IIDX font for a note combo used up to beatmania IIDX 19 Lincle makes its debut in this game, replacing the font used from beatmania IIDX 6th style to beatmania IIDX 8th style.
  • The default song title font was changed. This new font was used until beatmania IIDX 11 IIDX RED.
  • Some older songs' unique title cards, overlays and videos have been removed, possibly due to the switch to PC hardware.
  • Playing on LIGHT7/14 now prevents you from going to EXTRA STAGE, regardless of bumping your final song to 7/14 KEYS and meeting requirements; this also carried over to 10th style and IIDX RED.
  • Only beatmania IIDX arcade release with no slogan.
  • eAMUSEMENT support for beatmania IIDX 9th style ended on February 18th, 2004, due to the release of beatmania IIDX 10th style the same day.
