DanceDanceRevolution GRAND PRIX

General Information / Changes
- First online PC DanceDanceRevolution title.
- Interface based on DanceDanceRevolution A20 PLUS blue version.
- Grading system and character animations are the same as well.
- Songs exclusive to gold cabinets are not present in this version.
- All licenses in the game are covers.
- As such, any master recording licenses, as well as other covers, have been removed.
- Except for LA BAMBA, all licenses appear in the DDR GRAND PRIX folder, regardless of their origin.
- Tickets must be purchased to play most of the modes of GRANDPRIX, similar to SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS コナステ. Cost is as follows:
- 5 tickets: 110 yen/PASELI
- 25 tickets (plus 1 free ticket): 550 yen/PASELI
- 50 tickets (plus 4 free tickets): 1100 yen/PASELI
- 100 tickets (plus 12 free tickets): 2200 yen/PASELI
- 200 tickets (plus 35 free tickets): 4400 yen/PASELI
- Five gameplay modes are present:
- The following two modes only appear if you do NOT have an active basic course subscription. Only Single style is available, and scores do not save:
- Free Play (フリープレー): play unlimited stages for free until you quit from the menu. Song selection is limited to a small subset (23 songs) of the GRAND PRIX mode. Only BEGINNER charts are playable.
- Trial Normal Play (トライアルノーマルプレー): costs 5 tickets to play. Up to three stages only (you can fail out early). All songs available by default in A20 PLUS, minus CHALLENGE-only charts and songs not available in this version, are available for play. Options are limited to those available in the arcade version's Normal Play mode. The experience of this mode is comparable to playing A20 PLUS without logging in.
- The following three modes require you to join the basic course, which costs 1,628 yen/PASELI a month. Scores will save when playing, but your scores are recorded separately from A20 PLUS. Both Single and Double styles are available:
- GRAND PRIX (グランプリプレー): play unlimited stages until you quit from the menu. Song selection consists of the GRAND PRIX folder, and version folders from the arcade DanceDanceRevolution titles up to and including DanceDanceRevolution SuperNOVA2. Options are based on Arcade Premium Play. Tickets will not be consumed.
- Arcade Premium Play (アーケードプレミアムプレー): costs 6 tickets to play, in addition to the subscription. Three stages guaranteed, plus EXTRA STAGE if earned. All songs available by default in A20 PLUS, minus songs not available in this version, can be selected, in addition to any songs that you already unlocked in A20 PLUS. All options are available in the options menu.
- Arcade Normal Play (アーケードノーマルプレー): costs 5 tickets to play, in addition to the subscription. Up to three stages only (you can fail out early). Song selection is mostly the same as Arcade Premium Play, except that some of the unlockable songs from A20 PLUS will not be available. Options are limited to those available in the arcade version's Normal Play mode.
- The following two modes only appear if you do NOT have an active basic course subscription. Only Single style is available, and scores do not save:
- A new dance mat can be ordered for the game, as shown here.
- First DanceDanceRevolution game to support 120 FPS.
- There is currently no support for NONSTOP or DAN courses.
- Accessing some of A20 PLUS' options, such as FAST/SLOW timing display and DARKEST background, requires logging into the game's website. It is currently not possible to change these options in GRAND PRIX.
