pop'n hiden ninpouchou (ポップン秘伝忍法帖) unlocks

Much like its arcade counterpart, pop'n music 12 いろは CS' unlocking system involves Shinobian (シノビアン赤), first seen in ニンジャヒーロー⚡シノビアン (the song itself even plays during the event).

The unlock system is very simple; play through any ARCADE mode, and you will rank up Ninja Points. Shinobian will try to throw his shuriken on one of several scrolls under a small time limit. All you have to do is simply press the red pop'n music button at the time one of the four scrolls passes by the screen, each representing a different season: spring, summer, fall, and winter. Once you hit a scroll, you'll see a picture slowly unroll from that scroll. Once it unrolls all the way, you'll unlock that song. Be careful not to hit a fifth, brown scroll: you get absolutely nothing if you do.

About halfway through Shinobian will be replaced by Shinobi Anko (シノビアンコ), the female ninja from 忍びアン子は恋の呪文 via a special scroll. (The music will also change to that of her theme.) A new scroll, nin-nin, will appear as well, with its sole unlock being her song, 忍びアン子は恋の呪文.

Once you fully complete the spring, summer, fall, winter, and nin-nin scrolls, one final, black scroll will pop up: unravel it to unlock the HELL 12 course. You'll also unlock all remaining EXs you had not already unlocked in the game.

Mini Game Unlocks

The following two songs are unlocked only through mini-games. They cannot be time released or unlocked with codes.

Shishamo no neko can (ししゃものネコ缶): pop'n music character Satou-san (サトウさん) and his cat Shishamo (ししゃも) from the song チェイス!チェイス!チェイス! notice a can good sale, and race to the store across a time limit across three different levels: a road, a jungle, and outer space. Press the blue buttons to speed up, the red button to jump over obstacles, and either yellow button to break. You have three hearts/chances to complete each level. You lose one if you collide with an obstacle from above or the ground, which will knock Shishamo from the basket. He will be saved by a different pop'n music character (Shinobian (シノビアン赤), YOSHIO, and Shinobi Anko (シノビアンコ), in that order). If you use up all three lives and Shishamo falls, or if you fail to complete any level on time, you have to restart from the road all over again. (If Satou-san manages to break successfully and catch Shishamo in the bicycle basket, you won't lose a heart.) Complete all three levels to unlock チェイス！チェイス！チェイス！.
Yima-sama no ryokkanudou (イマ様の緑化運動): you, the Yima at the bottom, have a limited time-frame to match the pose of the Yima above you. Yima will pose in one of five ways; press the color at the bottom of the screen that represents this pose. If you hit incorrectly or don't hit the button fast enough, you have to restart all over. If you play in 2-player mode, the red button will not be used. Complete this game 100% to unlock BEYOND THE EARTH.

pop'n Request

New to pop'n music 12 いろは CS is pop'n request, where you play sets of songs chosen by a fan poll held before the game's release for song revivals to appear in the game. The catch, though, is that you don't know what song you're going to play until you choose it. Clear the songs on any difficulty level to have them playable in ARCADE/FREE mode.
