Spammers

Holy bejeezus, they're back. (By the way, Fongpei is a spammer, too.) Perhaps we could use a more complicated account creation process?

Add Eldron to the list. I think they're all the same person - they're trying to post the same links. -TeamRagnarok 07:17, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Added both of them; there's nothing I can do to make the account creation more complicated, it's not my software. (sigh) --Remy 21:38, 10 Mar 2006 (EST)
Aw, but it's GPL software. I'd volunteer to try to add an email confirmation type thing this weekend, but I'm kind of leaving for England in 10 hours :x (By the way, I'd guess all this spamming is scripted; the xtrinityluvx and Fongpei edits always happened four minutes apart.) Also by the way, the CS USA page ... :x --Miz 06:52, 11 Mar 2006 (EST)
Wiki.theppn.org got a similar kind of attack during the same days and has had a huge shower of spamming in the past hour. This is nonsense. >_> --Sakurina 21:19, 11 Mar 2006 (EST)

Got another one - Altair spammed seven pages with the same set of links. --TeamRagnarok 04:59, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I found some potentially good info. Remy, check your email. Also, I don't really see the point in cleaning up the link spam until we get blocks (or better solutions) in place, since it appears to be, so it just clutters up the Recent Changes page :x --Miz 00:16, 12 Mar 2006 (EST)

You said blocks, teehee! Actually, if Google indexes this wiki often, they can use this to spam up Google search engine result pages. Trust me, you learn all about this when you participate in SEO contests. --Sakurina 17:17, 12 Mar 2006 (EST)
Added a wgSpamRegex. Should cover all the spam we've gotten in the last week; if there are more rules I need to add, I will as time goes by. --Remy 20:10, 13 Mar 2006 (EST)

Not a spammer, but TheCat88 is really screwing up the wiki. He's moving pages all over the place, and is causing some pages to have non-working links (by moving them to pages with katakana/kanji in their titles). --TeamRagnarok 23:10, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

First Appeared On:

Uh, for several songs, their first appearance isn't in IIDX, although that's what their song pages currently say. Would it work to make that line say what the actual first appearance is, whether it's 5Key, Pop'n, IIDX, DDR, or whatever, and add "First IIDX Appearance" and "First Pop'n Appearance" lines for when it came out there? Front page edit requests!

So now that I've added the IIDX Songs category to most of the IIDX song pages, could you change the "Song directory" link on the first page under the IIDXicon heading to point to Category: IIDX Songs? Could you also move all the pages that aren't already to game-specific page names? (e.g. AC General Info -> IIDX AC General Info) Also, Category: Characters is empty now, please link that to Category: IIDX Characters. The Songs and Characters links should also be changed on the IIDXicon page. I think that about covers it for now. Yes. Thanks. --Miz 19:00, 1 Apr 2006 (EST)

I'm not certain, but I believe all of the pages HAD a IIDX: and PnM: prefix before and were removed shortly afterwards. --Sakurina 21:59, 1 Apr 2006 (EST)

IIDXicon and GOLD

GOLD is still missing from the IIDXicon main page. It's protected, so I can't add it myself. --TeamRagnarok 15:54, 11 Jan 2007 (EST)

Thanks. :) --TeamRagnarok 23:24, 19 Jan 2007 (EST)
