* A sequel to DDR UNIVERSE3 was in the early stages of development in 2009, but was ultimately cancelled in favor of an Xbox 360 version of DanceDanceRevolution (2010).
** That release was also ultimately re-worked into the 2010's DanceDanceRevolution release on PlayStation 3 (which was also ported to the Xbox 360). It is speculated that the "cover flow" music select screen layout from early game builds were built from leftover assets in UNIVERSE4's development.
* Work on the game's soundtrack started very early, with most of the songs already complete during early development. Once the release was cancelled, the songs wound up being ported into the soundtrack for Konami's walking-based Wii game, ''Walk it Out!''.
** Many of the Bemani artists involved had either previously created new songs, or had their songs from older Bemani games crossed over into the Ultramix & Universe series.
** A large portion of the ''Walk It Out!'' soundtrack was ported over to [[CS DDR Classroom Edition|DanceDanceRevolution Classroom Edition]].
