NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016
NEW Generation natsu no ryuusei festa 2016 (NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016) is a collaboration event between beatmania IIDX 23 copula, jubeat Qubell, and SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS. It started on August 10th, 2016.
A second part of the event, named NEW Generation ryuusei kakusan festa 2016 (NEW Generation 流星拡散フェスタ2016), started on August 6th, 2016, and also included DanceDanceRevolution A, MÚSECA 1+1/2, pop'n music éclale, and REFLEC BEAT VOLZZA 2.
Both parts ended on December 1st, 2016.
Overview
The focus of the event is to unlock the five new songs by commissioned artists. After these songs are unlocked, a seventh song will be available as well:

Each game starts out with a default song, while the remaining songs need to be unlocked. Each game has its own unlocking method, which are described below:
How to Unlock
beatmania IIDX
StrayedCatz is the default song. The other four event songs are unlocked by clearing certain EXPERT COURSEs which were made available on the same day. Triple Counter can be unlocked one chart at a time by obtaining the 4 SECRET course event songs on the same difficulty; unlocking the song nets you a Gold Tran Medal:
- HAPPY course: Angelic Jelly.
- ARTCORE course: Grand Chariot.
- SUMMER course: Sephirot.
- TAG course: ZEPHYRANTHES.
From beatmania IIDX 24 SINOBUZ onwards, all of the NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016 songs are available by default.
DanceDanceRevolution
Players had to play one of the event songs in beatmania IIDX 23 copula/24 SINOBUZ, jubeat Qubell, or SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS first to have the songs available for unlock in EXTRA SAVIOR. Only Angelic Jelly was unlockable by itself.
All of the NEW Generation 流星拡散フェスタ2016 charts must be unlocked one at a time, from BASIC to EXPERT. Charts for Triple Counter are only available after having unlocked the corresponding charts of the other five songs.
For each Triple Counter difficulty unlocked, new costumes for DanceDanceRevolution characters were unlocked until November 7th, 2017:
- BASIC: JOMANDA costume for EMI.
- DIFFICULT: VALLIS-NERIA costume for ALICE.
- EXPERT: Lisa-RICCIA costume for RINON.
From December 1st, 2016, all songs are available in EXTRA SAVIOR, without requiring to play another BEMANI game first. Note that North American machines could not unlock the event songs before December 1st, 2016.
jubeat
Angelic Jelly is the default song. The event songs can be unlocked via the NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016 QUBE in Qubell's dig dig Qubell unlocking system. For the dates when said QUBE was available, please see this page.
The unlocking order is fixed: Grand Chariot (STAGE 1)→Sephirot (STAGE 2)→StrayedCatz (STAGE 3)→ZEPHYRANTHES (STAGE 4)→Triple Counter (STAGE 5).
In jubeat clan, all of the NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016 songs (besides Angelic Jelly) can be unlocked on the jubeat SHOP.
MÚSECA
Angelic Jelly is the default song. The other event songs are available for unlock from October 6th to November 3rd, 2016.
To unlock the event songs, simply play a round of beatmania IIDX 23 copula/24 SINOBUZ, jubeat Qubell, or SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS once. Afterwards, you will unlock an event song after every three rounds.
Unlocking Triple Counter will also unlock a limited edition Grafica as well.
pop'n music
Angelic Jelly is the default song. Players had to play one of the event songs in beatmania IIDX 23 copula/24 SINOBUZ, jubeat Qubell, or SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS first. Afterwards, the other event songs are available for purchase at the Star Factory, and by purchasing all of them, Triple Counter will be available for purchase as well.

From December 1st, 2016, the event songs' charts that were not purchased could not be unlocked. This was fixed on December 3rd, 2016 (although it still required to have played beatmania IIDX/jubeat/SOUND VOLTEX during the event period to purchase any of the songs).
As of September 28th, 2017 in pop'n music うさぎと猫と少年の夢, all of the NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016 songs are available by default.
REFLEC BEAT
Angelic Jelly is the default song. All other songs in the event are unlocked, one at a time, every three play sessions. Songs are unlocked in the following order: Sephirot → ZEPHYRANTHES → StrayedCatz → Grand Chariot → Triple Counter.
In REFLEC BEAT 悠久のリフレシア, all songs in the event were removed along with the majority of KONAMI originals.
- Angelic Jelly was revived and available by default on February 2nd, 2017.
- ZEPHYRANTHES was revived and available by default on March 23rd, 2017.
- StrayedCatz was revived and available by default on August 3rd, 2017.
SOUND VOLTEX
Sephirot is the default song. The event songs are unlocked by collecting stamps. A stamp can be obtained after one play session. After obtaining a certain amount of stamps, you unlock a song:
- 2 stamps: ZEPHYRANTHES.
- 4 stamps: StrayedCatz.
- 7 stamps: Grand Chariot.
- 11 stamps: Angelic Jelly.
- 15 stamps: Triple Counter.
Note that GRAVITY charts for each NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016 song has to be unlocked via INFINITE BLASTER, after unlocking all songs. Triple Counter's GRAVITY chart has to be unlocked after the other five song's GRAVITY charts are unlocked.
From December 15th, 2016, all of the NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016 songs (besides Sephirot) can be purchased at the SDVX Station.
As of SOUND VOLTEX IV HEAVENLY HAVEN, NOVICE to EXHAUST charts for all of the NEW Generation 夏の流星フェスタ2016 songs (except Triple Counter) are unlocked by default. All six songs' GRAVITY charts can be unlocked via BLASTER GATE (Triple Counter no longer requires the other event songs' GRAVITY charts to be unlocked first).
Trivia
- DanceDanceRevolution is the only participant game that does not have a default event song.
