TAKA
This special track features the first movement of Winter from Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons", a Baroque masterpiece among masterpieces.
Recently, R&B music sampling Bach's "Air on the G String" is booming once again, and it's perhaps exciting that the real beauty of Baroque melodies and harmonies is receiving renewed attention, don't you think?
For this game, I basically tried to arrange the song in a way that respects the original.
Continuously double-pressing the buttons creates harmonies between the first and second violins playing together.
The original song is slightly longer, and I had to cut parts to fit the game version, so I'd like everyone to also check out the original song.
It's a classic among classic songs, and you can probably find it in CD shops, school, and library materials.

I received a request from wac to write a few words about about "V". Well~, what should I say? I'll look at beatmania IIDX 5th style's official website for now ("V" is a crossover from IIDX5th).

Wow, the theme of 5th style was "music"! I didn't even remember that, but it certainly sounds like something I'd say. And if you ask me, it certainly sounds like music. It was around this time I made Tengoku no kiss, wasn't it? Congratulations on your marriage, Matsushima! I'm sorry to all pop'n fans who don't know what I'm talking about. I'll be happy if you check out the song if you're interested.

Nevertheless, my old comments are really interesting, aren't they? But in a way, they feel painful. We take pride in being the only people to do painful things in a brilliant way, and I'd like to continue doing my best. Of course, but I feel completely different now than from that time, even if it's just one thought. What I found satisfying during that time may be dissatisfying now, and vice versa. I think this applies for everyone, not just creators. Either way, that was then and this is now, so even if you think differently, I believe it's important to not forget how you felt then. All the time, right?

Meanwhile, many users have played "V" in IIDX for a long time, which is still placed on the TOP10 of the song selection ranking, and has supposedly become a "timeless masterpiece". In the latter half of 2008, a significantly refined track called "V2" will appear in beatmania IIDX16 EMPRESS, which expands on the second half of the first movement of Winter from Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons".

To all the pop'n fans who enjoyed "V", when the pink IIDX cabinet releases, by all means, give it a try.

Enjoy!

I think "V" (pronounced as "bui" among production staff)" is the first song which represents the keyword "MUSIC" in this game.
It's a song which conveys a harsh winter, with a frozen body and mind like walking through a blizzard, but it also conveys the strength of humans who clench their teeth when walking, imagining of the comfort of a warm meal in front of a fireplace.

I started making this movie with the theme of snow falling in time with the music, shadows reflecting in windows, and continuous walking.
I don't know how this came together with an unexpected impact, such the deep snow suddenly fell with an upper groove, in addition to a combination of grooves of a coffee commercial and a silhouetted animation for a children's educational program... (I started making the concept alongside TAKA...)

TAKA said "Well, this is how it's going to be?" (In a bad mood).
On the other hand, the song was very popular with the staff... (They felt happy and sad).
I hope that everyone will watch the movie and overlaps it with the image of the song, visualizing them in your mind....

Is TRAN, an alien girl, having fun in the falling snow...?
After wearing a scarf and coat, she ended up walking all the way to pop'n!

VJ GYO
It's been a long time since it was first included in beatmaniaIIDX 5th style...
However, as a song representing the IIDX series, "V" still has a brilliantly shining presence with its overwhelming support.
It's truly a timeless masterpiece.

Timeless... while saying this, I suddenly remembered back then when the team discussed whether they should include Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, the composer of the original song (Concerto for Violin in F Minor, "Winter", RV.297), in the composer column of the staff roll.
As a result, he was listed first following the rules of alphabetical order, but while such trivia is clear in my memories, I don't remember any particular details of how I came with the idea to include a "silhouetted animation of TRAN walking down a spiral staircase".

... I guess it's by chance.

But, it's probably an impressive combination. I made that scene more pop'n-styled here.
Although I naturally want to add something new and tried to aim for "a suitable costume design for walking during a blizzard" and "recreating the way she walks down the stairs like a toddler" (TRAN has an image of a 3 year old child).

... I tried working on it, but did I deviate from it too much?
... It's still the same.

Staff Comments
Seiya Murai
I'm familiar with Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons~Winter", but I heard Vivaldi didn't intend to be the image of "The Four Seasons" at all?

TOMOSUKE
I was addicted to Vivaldi when I was learning the violin as an elementary school student.
He was also famous as a violin expert.
Domenico Scarlatti is a similar Italian musician from the Baroque era.
If you like keyboard instruments, give them a listen.

mayo
I want to clear this with a cool play!, this song's impact contains such image!

chihiro
I wonder if even aliens can become cold~? It doesn't matter anyways, it's fluffy and cute.
Isn't it suspenseful when TRAN walks down that narrow staircase and seems like she'll fall down each time? Her handling's quite good, huh!

kinoko
I wonder what TRAN feels like when you touch her.
Are aliens warm? Are they cool?
Are they fluffy? Are they smooth?
I wonder if BABY TRAN will come here someday~ I'm secretly waiting.

shio
I asked the always busy VJ GYO "please, by all means", and I received his Winter TRAN. I'm still glad I asked him! Thank you very much!
And even in pop'n, V was still V.... this song's "essence" has a strong personality as expected. I can see why it's positioned as a king. It matches my definition of a "IIDX-ish" song.

Otsu
It's an endless staircase. I sometimes have these kinds of dreams.

Mameshiba
♪Tattaka takataka tattattata...
Please forgive me for pressing x2 with one alternating hand... (HYPER)
The shape of my hand when I press here... forms a V shape! Such a deep meaning...!!
(※It's probably a misunderstanding)

Daniel
When I first saw this song's notecharts in 2DX, I felt hopeless.
When I first saw this song's notecharts (EX) in pop'n, I also felt hopeless.

Use the BEAT POP-kun OPTION, and deliciously enjoy it♪

wac
Around the time I included this song in the game, did I seriously realize that it was the 10th anniversary of pop'n?
I honestly hesitated about including this song, but I decided to do it this time in order to fulfill the survey.

I'm way too subtle to brag, but I was probably the first person besides the beatmaniaIIDX team that played this song.
Of course, I couldn't clear it at all. Even in pop'n, I still can't clear it.

I didn't work much in pop'n 16 PARTY, so I thought of a provoking comment for this song, and it didn't really work.
Anyways, since it's the 10th anniversary, the inflated exaggerated comments for the crossover songs is also amazing. There's various songs arriving in pop'n, but among them, this song has the most inflated song comments.
Personally, the most exaggerated song comment was in pop'n 14's PROGRESSIVE BAROQUE, but this compares to that. In other words, TAKA has an exaggerated image.
I don't know what provoking comments to say anymore, but I'd be happy if those who don't play beatmania IIDX can feel that a great song somehow came.
