Just curious, what would you consider lyrics and what would you consider sound bites. I am wondering, because a few other songs that I considered had lyrics that I did for the wiki, such as Come On, could be considered sound bites. Well, I think of it this way: lyrics are words in a song spoken or sang specifically for that song, sound bites are snippets of words or interjections that usually don't carry any meaning whatsoever and are used simply for effect. If you want to see lyrics that barely count as true lyrics, see gigadelic and Second Heaven, anything significantly more mindless than those are usually considered sound bites. | |||
My general rule that I just made up right now is that if every single word in a song isn't identified or explained, it is not ready to have a lyrics section in the article. Come On appears to be okay because it is completely decoded; FIRE FIRE was not okay because all we had was "Somebody Scream" which is only one of many samples in the song. --(Ockham17 15:36, 30 July 2007 (CDT)) |
