wac is now my co-worker.
This time my partner is wac.
As a fellow musician, I talk about song ideas with wac.
wac, a fellow musician I talk about ideas with.
And, wac is sometimes my rival.
And wac, my occasional rival.

On the other hand, I've spent time with wac, eating and not eating.
We've walked back together when one of us didn't have enough fare for the train ride.
We've spent nights together, toasting each other with cans of beer and beating our own chests.

It's been two years since we created "Votum stellarum".
On the other hand, I've spent time with wac, whether we eat or not.
Have we looked back much? I wonder if we've just run on ahead this whole time.
We've walked together when we didn't have a return train fare in our pockets.
No, I don't think we've had the time to look back.
We've toasted together with beer cans on nights when we were excited about our futures.
Now that I think of it, we've both come to places we'd never imagined we'd be in.

I wonder why that's the only thing I can think of when I think about this song now?
It's been 2 years since we released "Votum stellarum".
Perhaps I pushed forward without really looking back.
No, perhaps I didn't have time to look back.
Before I knew it, I never imagined to be in this position.

You could say we're somehow inseparable. It's truly a strange relationship.
When I think of this song now, I wonder why I only have such thoughts.
I have to say I'm jealous of his talent. Even now, I have deep respect and awe for his music,
Which so superbly blends theory and emotion.

I dare you.
You could say we're somehow inseparable, it's truly a mysterious relationship.
Thank you, my good friend.
I'm jealous of his talent. His music contains both theory and sensitivity, and even now, I admire and respect his ideas.

(iconoclasm: dj TAKA)
I dare to say.
To my good friend, thank you.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Hmm, this is a little awkward.
Stop it, isn't it embarrassing?
Huh, I won't lose! I'll tear you apart!
Well, I won't lose to you, so I'm going to be honest!

You probably know this already, but this song was born of pop'n 10's "Wish on the Stars" project.
There are people who probably know this, but this song was born from pop'n 10's "Pray to the stars" project.
TAKA chose it among all the songs whose composers wished he'd choose.
TAKA chose it among the many requests sent to him.
I've never said this, but the truth is, around then, I was really hoping, "It'd be nice if he chose the idea for our collaboration". I already had my hands full with my own work at that point!
I haven't said this, but actually, I thought to myself at that time, "I wonder if he'll choose me for the collaboration". Even though I was already very busy with work!

This is kind of an old story, but there was a time when I'd all but given up on making music and entering the world of games.
This is a slightly old story, but there was a time when I nearly gave up on making music and going into the video game world.
This world is already too much for me, and music and games are a nice hobby, but maybe I'd better start studying for my civil service examination ... That's all I could think. I even bought the study books.
This world was already becoming impossible for me, so I wondered about starting to study for my civil service examination, which I even bought the textbooks for, and keep the music and games as nice hobbies.
TAKA was the one who did his best to convince me otherwise. He scolded me and encouraged me on, and even put our desks together in a row, trying to convince me to pursue the same goal with him.
At such time, TAKA scolded and encouraged me, while arranging our desks together to reach the same goal, which was starting to happen.
It's thanks to TAKA that I remembered my dream of making music.
Thanks to TAKA, I remembered why I wrote music.
Even my becoming a sound director is probably thanks to TAKA, who walked that path before I did.
I'm sure the path TAKA walked before me was how I undeservedly became a sound director.

So, I figured there was no way he could turn down a request to do a song together.
So, I wondered if I could repay something back to him by making a song together.
Even my memories of the time around when we did this song are full of him saving me.
While making this song, I only remember TAKA eventually helping me.
The loans that just kept on piling up. Dang. It's hard to think about.
My debt just keeps piling up. Damn it. It's difficult.

Direction according to unyielding will and proper judgement. Musical production by extensive musicianship and a natural sense of music. And above all a sense of rhythm and tone.
Direction by unwavering mental strength and appropriate judgement. Mass music production by broad musicality and a natural music sense. And above all, a rhythmic sense and music atmosphere.
I'm always staring at the guy who has all of these things I don't and almost drooling from jealousy. Dang. It's hard to think about.
I don't have any of these qualities, and I'm always drooling and looking with envy.
Damn it. It's difficult.

We're junior and senior, equals, contractor and applicant, rivals in music and equipment, and office mates all rolled into one.
We're like a junior and senior from the same period, a person who asks and is asked to make a song, and a rival and close co-worker for the same game.
And, as usual, we're great friends.
And, it doesn't change that we're friends.

Please play this song in a mood overflowing with that sort of friendship power.
Please intensely enjoy the collaborative friendship power between such duo.
We're iconoclasm. Tear down your icons. Smash, bang.
We're iconoclasm. Let's destroy that image. Bang, thump.

Let's see.
Let's see.
I guess I had some favors to ask from TAKA, and a few came up while we were going home on the subway one day. This is how they turned out.
I had various requests to ask TAKA, and talked about them up every time we traveled back and forth from the subway. It eventually turned out like this.
He was supposed to have lots of collaborations with people, but this is one of his first, and somehow it ended up being with me.
There were many requests for units with various people, but he was somehow paired with me, which hasn't happened before.

Come to think of it, we've known each other for a long time.
Something like, "Yeah, let's do something really moving."

So it's trance, yes? Great, let's talk about my feelings towards trance.
So I've never really listened closely to trance but this time I heard a lot of things for the first time.
I had lots of thoughts like, "Why Ibiza?" "What's the deal with progressive house?", but I'd never really bought any and listened too closely. That's the end of my hot feelings towards trance.

Anyway, I ended up being the one to decide on the chord progression.
Come to think of it, we've known each other for a long time.
I ended up tossing over twenty versions of harmonies for the piano to TAKA.
"Well, let's make something impressive and moving".
Even though I was just playing around with the piano, that's just what I would have expected from TAKA.
It really ended up turning out as trance. That's awesome. He ended up being really useful. No, wait.
Well, it's over it's over this is great this is great this is really great~.

... I thought at the end and ended up going a little overboard ... oh well.
I mean, it's trance. OK, let's talk about my passion for trance.
Or rather, I haven't properly listened to trance, so this time, I listened to various songs for the first time.
I felt "what's with Ibiza?" and "what's with progressive house?", but it seems like I just bought them without listening. This is the end of the story about my passion for trance.

So, the time I spent working on this piece actually seemed to go by really fast
Anyways, I "decided on the chord progression".
And it ended up being full of memories, that's really the power this song has ... I hope.
I played around 20 harmony motifs on the piano, and tossed them to TAKA.
Especially since life is full of memories of me being a pain to TAKA ... I hope not.
And then, TAKA somehow played "chan chan" chords on the piano, as expected of him.
It properly came out as trance. That's amazing. The world is so convenient now. No, it's not.
Well, it's over, it's over, great, great, this is great.
While thinking this, he asked me to play the piano, so I added a bit towards the end.

Is it a one-time legend? Will we have this chance again? I don't know what the chances are for this unit, but
So, I didn't spend that long working on this song, but it unexpectedly became a memorable song from its power, as expected... I hope.
Hopefully we'll see you again sometime.
For some reason, I have many memories of causing a lot of trouble to TAKA.

*wac
I don't know very well where this unit stands, whether it's a one-off legend or if we'd have a next opportunity, but best regards for next time.

dj TAKA
dj TAKA
When I was shown the original text about me for "Pray to the stars", I was most drawn to the comment "I'd like dj TAKA and wac to create a fusion of orchestra and trance".
Come to think of it, as a guy who I was classmates with and sat next to back then, I never dreamed about having someone say something like this...

There were a lot of things about me in the feedback for "Wish on the Stars", but the one that stood out the most ...
As wac and I have known each other for a long time, I thought about having a partner who specialized in parts I wasn't good at composing, and wondered if various things led to this inevitability, so I decided to try it.
"I want to see an orchestral trance fusion song by dj TAKA and wac."<ml>
Come to think of it, we've been together for years, back when we were classmates together with our desks in a row;
I don't think I could have ever imagined we'd be together in a situation like this ...

It seems like we've always been good at the things that the other was bad at for a long time, so I wonder if a lot of things were just inevitable. So, we decided we should give it a try.

I started laying rhythms and phrases over the chord progressions wac had determined earlier, and in response to that, wac would come up with piano solos ... and we went on like that, but he came up with so many things I would have never thought of, so I think this was a really good collaborative effort.
For the production process, I inserted the rhythms and phrases by combining chord progression patterns initially made by wac, and furthermore, he layered solo piano phrases over them, and as expected of wac's work, I never thought about doing any of this, but I think it's an extremely great collaboration.

It was a lot of fun, and we made something really great, so I'd definitely do this again if we could get the chance.
It was really fun, and the greatest song I've created, so by all means, I'd like to work together with him again if there's another opportunity.
It'd be great to do this sort of thing with more people in the future, too.
And also, it'd be great if there's an opportunity like this with various people.

*dj TAKA

Nice to meet you. My name is shio, who usually draws illustrations for pop'n.
This time, it's a pop'n crossover song, so I tried to help out using my limited abilities.
A dream collaboration between the sound directors of both game series! It feels like a dream to be able to play it in both games~.

Nice to meet you. I'm shio, and I usually do art for pop'n.
This song was born from pop'n 10's "Pray to the stars" project.
Since this is a pop'n crossover song, I was able to help out as best I could with my little ability.
I once again thought about the mysterious coincidences and possibilities that this song wouldn't have been created without requests from players.
A legendary collaboration by the sound directors of both series! Wouldn't it be great if you could play it on both machines at the same time?

This song came out of the "Wish on a Star!" project for pop'n 10.
Furthermore, I was in charge due to overlapping coincidences, so I wanted make a movie only I could make and bridge both game series together.
Without the players' wishes, this song would never have come to this world, but here it is, thanks to the strange chances and probabilities of life.
Let's mix each "style" of pop'n and IIDX.
Of course, I made it feel like you understood both composers.
I'm a greedy person, so I wanted to show both games' delicious parts.
But, as "from pop'n!" appears, it seems to destroy IIDX's cool worldview...
So I worried about various things, and settled down with something like this.
It doesn't feel out of place among the new songs in HAPPY SKY, but I hope players who know the pop'n version will "grin" at that section.

Since I ended up being in charge of this song due to various circumstances, I wanted to do the type of movie only I could do; I wanted to do a video to kind of bridge the two series.
I wanted to mix the good parts and particular natures of pop'n and IIDX.
Of course, I wanted to do something that would fit well with the two composers' natures.
Since I'm greedy, I wanted to emphasize the best parts of both games.
But, I figured if I emphasized the pop'n part too much, it would step on the cool IIDX image too much ...
So I worried about things like that and eventually settled into something like this.
It fits in with the new songs from HAPPY SKY,
But it's nice that there's something here to make the pop'n players smile, too.
I know the Book of Genesis isn't something grand, but it's a small anthem for me.
So, it's not quite as grandiose as Genesis,
I'd also like to thank the designers on the IIDX team who generously gave me with materials.
But this is my own little anthem.
It was fun to combine the completed movies with a bit of VJ-REMIXing.
Thanks also to all the IIDX designers who generously gave me such good materials to work with.
It was fun to have a little VJ REMIX sort of movie come out of this project.
Thank you very much!
Thank you very much!

Would a DJ who created the world, enjoy becoming the god of the pop'n world?
The stardust he gathered, descending as brand-new music and life.

Doesn't it make sense that a DJ would perform the creation that makes him the god of the pop'n world?
shio
This is how the stardust he gathers becomes new worlds and new life.
I'm really grateful that everyone's prayers to the stars is just like their thoughts about pop'n.
The large number of individual requests appear like countless stars in the universe, and this song is somehow just divine and beautiful. I don't know what to say, but I'd like to convey such grateful and shining feelings.
I'm so happy that everyone's feelings for pop'n could culminate in this sort of a wish on the stars.
Everybody's wishes were like the stars in the sky that you just can't count, and the song that came out of it is almost divinely beautiful. I really don't know what to say, it would be nice if that sort of gratitude could help me convey these shining feelings.

This may be the first time I've mentioned this, but MZD is based on the nice fellow who worked hard as a first-generation designer for pop'n. That's why he's god. When you stop to think that the little specks that had gathered around him have all turned into an enormous pop'n world,
This might be the first time I've said this about MZD, but he's modeled after the man who served as the first pop'n designer. That's why he's a god. It's actually mysterious and very lovely that the small pixels that he created have now expanded into such a big pop'n world.
it's really amazing and beautiful, isn't it?

They all started out as small pieces, but when assembled, they become a great star. I tried to make a movie-like animation out of that idea.
So, but I created these movie-like animations with the image that small pieces will become a big star when they're collected.

Wow. This is surprisingly serious. It's something that would've been rejected in pop'n 6, but that's alright. This is a special time. It's somehow a sound director collaboration. They're close friends.
I'm captivated by it. I recommend listening to this with headphones. If you don't own the soundtrack, let's immediately buy it. Is it a bargain if this song is slightly longer? I think so.

Hyaa. It's surprisingly serious. It's kind of sudden, but it's nice. We can do it special just for this time. It's good for a co-starring event of sound directors. Best friends are great.
KAKKI
It's full of the vastness of space and almost absent piano playing. You should listen to it with headphones. If you haven't bought the soundtrack yet, you should go buy it. Hm, this song is a little longer on the soundtrack, isn't it?
