Back when the genre name "drum'n bass" emerged, I was completely clueless. Being the old coelacanth I am, I asked one of my junior colleagues who's into new things about what it is. "Hmmm, right... I'll give it a listen."
... I'm already too stubborn to chase after popular things or new trends, though; all I really want to do is relax, listen to some Okinawan folk music or Hawaiian music, and drink beer or something while watching the sunset.
