I think real minimal songs aren't so great for game play in beatmania *g* But when you add lots of different sounds, you have something that's no longer really "minimal", and if you decrease the activity, it's not so great for game play. What can you do? *g* I tried to find a suitable middle ground when making this track. What do you all think of it? In any case, all that really matters is whether you have fun playing it.
I think it's very difficult to turn sounds from this kind of genre into games from the BEMANI series (laughs).
Because it doesn't belong in this genre when there are many sounds, and it doesn't belong in this game when there are few sounds. What should I do (laughs). Meanwhile, I reached a compromise and tried to create this track, so how was it? Everyone (laughs).
If you're having fun playing it, I'm fine with it.

Akira Yamaoka's comments above echo a point of dispute that occured during song selection time. Goli and I thought it would be a great hit, so we said, "Yeah! You should make it!" But a lot of people were going "Umm" with funny looks on their faces. Still, as might have been expected, we came to understand the difficulties in converting the song to the game. I think everyone has a vague idea of what songs in beatmania, and more specifically IIDX, should sound like, but rather than happening spontaneously, this has come about due to the careful guidance of the sound director. 4th style was Akira Yamaoka-san's first time creating music for IIDX, but it's amazing how he's been able to take advantage of the various merits and charms of several different genres in the game. Each is communicated quite well, without mixing in from the others, and it makes the game that much better.
Akira Yamaoka's comments like the one above, is often brought up when selecting songs to include in these games.
When [[Goli Matsumoto|GOLI]] and I were listing popular hit tunes, we liked this song! Let's include it! When I yelled (or let's use a tie-up~!), [[Takayuki Ishikawa|dj TAKA]] often said "hmm~" while appearing annoyed, but I've recently started to understand the nuance of how difficult it is to include this~ in the game.
I think everyone has a vague image of the sounds unique to the BEMANI series (or IIDX to be more exact), but instead of this song being naturally created, many parts were planned and crated by the sound staff in charge.
Akira Yamaoka, who participated in the IIDX sound production for the first time in 4th style, is highly skilled at retaining a song's brilliant flavor while adapting it in the game, without adjusting each genre's features and charms, which is simply amazing.
