LCD-based cabinet requirement

First DanceDanceRevolution arcade game to require an LCD-based cabinet, shipped with DanceDanceRevolution X or newer, as CRT-based cabinets are unsupported.

• Where was this mentioned or stated? As far as I know, the main website for DDR WORLD has not mentioned any information about cabinet specs. / Edit: Obviously, the old cabinets (CRT models) won't run the upcoming game since they're discontinued, but still where was it stated that it requires an LCD-based cabinet? - Sweets (talk) 10:55, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

• The problem with the bm CastHour comment is that in the case of DDR, DDR World doesn't just discontinue the SD resolution, but also CRT cabinets as a whole. It is possible to remove the CRT monitor on a DDR cabinet, replace it with a proper widescreen LCD monitor, and then set DDR A3 (and possibly other versions from X to A20+) to run in widescreen 720p. Even in that case, however, Konami does not support these cabinets with World or online A3.

Some ridiculous trivia...I noticed that WORLD doesn't say "Here We Go" when gameplay starts. Is this the very first version of the game with this behavior? My recollection is that literally all previous versions say "Here We Go," except during stage 2+ of courses. • I actually dug up footage of Dancing Stage: Dreams Come True and I can see that it doesn't display either "Here We Go" or "Ready," lol. It seems that there is no longer any functional difference between the 20th anniversary cabinet and other cabinets; the data migration screen hints at this. It shows both the blue/gold versions of A3 on the left side but only the single "DDR WORLD" logo on the right. Is this notable enough to add to the list of info/changes? Talking about first time for stuff... isn't this the very first Arcade DDR game that lacks any kind of HOW TO PLAY?
The attract sequence is Warning -> Logos (Konami, Bemani, E-amusement, RSA) -> Licenses/credits -> Title Screen -> demonstration -> rinse and repeat --Wanny (talk) 06:59, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

• Believe it or not, DDRMAX2 didn't have any sort of tutorial either. It was cut after DDRMAX, but returned in EXTREME. Also, I'm not as familiar with the 2013/2014 versions, so I can't recall whether they had one. --Yyr (talk) 12:40, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

Suggestion to remove "prior to DDR W" for full screen videos

I have noticed that hundreds of articles have a sentence similar to "eliminates any on-screen dancers prior to DanceDanceRevolution WORLD." (Examples: LA BAMBA, BE LOVIN, Can Be Real, etc.) I find this text to be unhelpful because it was only true at one time, and now, it is untrue. Yes, when DDR W was first released on May 7, 2024, videos no longer played in full screen. Since December 23, 2024, however, videos now default to playing in full screen once again. While the on-screen dancers have a static image-only appearance, as opposed to 3D animated dancers from SuperNOVA to A3, they are still on-screen dancers, and they are still eliminated by default with an up-to-date DDR W. (Konami does not support playing this game offline.)

DDR first launched almost 27 years ago. The absence of full screen videos in DDR W lasted 230 days, or ≈7½ months. I disagree with copy-pasting "prior to DanceDanceRevolution WORLD" in hundreds of articles when it is no longer true or relevant. Would it be possible to remove this wording from all affected articles? Another option would be to replace "prior to DanceDanceRevolution WORLD" with "by default", or to move it to the beginning. (Example: "By default, this video eliminates any on-screen dancers.") Please let me know what you think.
