This is a sad disco song about unrequited love. The singer's sorrow rides on the sounds of folk guitar, though the rest of the song is comparatively bright and cheerful. It's a song about a comparatively weak man, singing "please don't go until my pain goes away". In the end he becomes better bit by bit, and instead strikes back. Something like, "I know you don't like me already! Just hang out with me tonight!"
