Song Connections / Remixes
- Happy-hopper is a happy hardcore arrangement of two folk songs. The beginning and ending are based on Korobeiniki, a 19th century Russian folk song based on a poem by Nikolay Nekrasov. Korobeiniki is most widely known for its usage in the Tetris video game series. The middle section is based on Mayim Mayim, an Israeli folk song composed by Emanuel Amiran-Pougatchov in the 1930's. Mayim Mayim's folk dance was introduced to Japan during post-war reconstruction as a form of community-building exercise, and it became a well-known song that has since appeared in a variety of Japanese television shows, movies, and video games (including Konami's Sexy Parodius, as the basis for "Lovely Otohime").
- A remix of Korobeiniki by Ryu☆, titled KOROBUSHKA (Ryu☆Remix), can be found on Ryu☆'s AGEHA album.
- A short version of KOROBUSHKA (Ryu☆Remix) can be found in REFLEC BEAT.
- A more classical take on Korobeiniki, titled コロブチカ, appears in the jubeat plus うんどうかい pack.
- Another remix of Korobeinki under Ryutaro Nakahara's 青龍 alias, titled KOROBUSHKA (青龍 Remix), appears on the BLUE DRAGON Exclusive Mixxx album.
- A remix of Korobeiniki by Ryu☆, titled KOROBUSHKA (Ryu☆Remix), can be found on Ryu☆'s AGEHA album.
Trivia
- Happy-hopper is the only song from the Dance Maniax series not on a game soundtrack.
- Because of this, its arranger was unknown until 2020, when TOMOSUKE confirmed on his twitter it was Kazuhiro Senoo.
