• Shortly after its release, おっとCHIKAN! was banned from Japanese television airplay, due to the song being about a high-school girl and her friends setting up a man as a molester to relieve stress (as translated here), when he just wanted to give her a love letter.
  • Despite this, it would receive multiple re-releases on Onyanko Club compilation albums, starting with the 1989 compilation album Forever Idol Best Series Onyanko Club (フォーエバー・アイドル・ベスト・シリーズ おニャン子クラブ).
