MPB stands for Música Popular Brasileira, and simply put, it's hybrid Brazilian popular music that incorporates bossa nova techniques with other elements of music genres.
With the recent Brazilian music boom, MPB has also been attracting attention, and its genre name seems to become more widespread, with MPB corners included in major CD retailers.
I'm most influenced by MPB, which is my favorite genre that gives me the best feeling, and I've currently written songs with such atmosphere in the MAMBO A GO GO and Gitadora series.
So, this is the third song in my MPB song series! It turned out like this, but Tizona has a slightly different direction than my previous two songs, as it's based on Spanish music.
The guitar closely incorporates Spanish scales and stroke techniques, rather than using a bossa nova approach.
The keyboard instruments have a '70s fusion feel, using quite complicated tension notes such as many detailed modulations.
To conclude! Brazilian music is great after all!

Tizona d'El Cid is a sword that belonged to El Cid, a Reconquista hero active in 11th century Spain.
After El Cid's death, I imagined that this sword passed through the hands of various people and finally into the hands of a beautiful gypsy dancer, while creating this song by layering a Reconquista scene with the dancer's graceful movements.
I originally made this song for IIDX, but in order to flow with "Brazilian Anthem", I included it in Gitadora by rearranging the drum patterns and other parts.

I created this song for IIDX, but I thought that it could be crossed over to Gitadora while making it.
The guitarist is Jun Kaziwara, who wonderfully played in the RHODES version of Brazilian Anthem, and in INFERNO from IIDX DistorteD.
This time, he also played the passionate Spanish phrases.
It's certainly enjoyable if you can play the guitar this much!

I was requested for "a picture of a woman holding a sword named El Cid", and it turned out like this.
It has a exotic and mysterious sound, so did I try to make her as a sexy gypsy?
Using a realistic drawing style? Or an American comic style? Hmm~... well, everyone looks cute. And very cool. I can't draw this. (help me!! master goli!! master maya!!)
For practice! I placed a "TokiM*mo" card beside it and tried to copy it, but I can't say it's the same character at all... the team members laughed at me and ended up putting it in a funny joke folder named "Gallery" (/_;) I tried to practice quite seriously, but~
When I see them next time, I'll try my best~ to draw a slightly cuter gyaru.
