== General Information / Changes ==

* The subtitle "PENDUAL" is a portmanteau of "pendulum" (hence the time theme) and "dual".

* The Space-Time system is introduced, which cycles the theme appearance between a "PRESENT Phase" (gray skin) and a "FUTURE Phase" (purple skin), with changes on the interface, background music and with their own exclusive songs.

** On the song selection screen, PRESENT Phase songs sit on a white background frame, while FUTURE Phase songs sit on a purple background frame.

** The PRESENT Phase BGM of beatmania IIDX 22 PENDUAL is made by [[Naoyuki Sato|猫叉Master]], while the FUTURE Phase BGM is made by [[Toshiyuki Kakuta|L.E.D.]].  

** The PRESENT Phase announcer is named [[Chronos (character)|Chronos]], the FUTURE Phase announcer is named [[Kairos]].

*** The two characters are the girls appearing in the ''Chrono Seeker'' event.

* In the result screen, ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE has been renamed as ONE MORE STAGE.

** The ONE MORE STAGE can be directly accessed from the FINAL STAGE if you play on coin mode in Japanese arcades.

* [[VANESSA]]'s background video, which was removed in [[AC tricoro|beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro]], is restored.

* [[F]]'s unique song title card has returned.

** LEGGENDARIA folder, as of September 17th, 2015, can also contain ''†'' charts for non-Spada†leggendaria songs.

* First beatmania IIDX game since [[AC substream|beatmania IIDX substream]] to not have a new song by [[Takayuki Ishikawa|dj TAKA]] on the default songlist.

* First beatmania IIDX arcade game since [[AC GOLD|beatmania IIDX 14 GOLD]] with no song by [[Akira Uchibori|GUHROOVY]] on the default songlist.

* First beatmania IIDX arcade game since their respective debuts with no [[Daisuke Akitsu|Dirty Androids]] or [[Daichi Watanabe|PON]] songs on the default songlist.

* The ''Hourglass of Time'' was introduced on December 22nd, 2014; it switches the game's current Space-Time Phase for a single player. You buy Hourglasses on the game's website by using PASELI: 5 of them cost 103p, 30 of them cost 618p and 60 of them cost 1235p. You use a single Hourglass in-game to switch the Space-Time Phase. Note that the Hourglasses expire 60 days after you purchased them.

** Hourglasses of Time were sold until October 28, 2015. All Hourglasses expired on November 11, 2015, with the release of [[AC copula|beatmania IIDX 23 copula]].

** Only regular EXPERT courses are part of monthly INTERNET RANKING periods.

** SECRET courses have been introduced. These ones come with a single new song each as the fourth stage, that can be unlocked by clearing the course itself and by playing it several times until the three difficulty gauges are filled (songs are unlocked by difficulty chart).

** No difficulty level limit in any stage.

* eAMUSEMENT support for beatmania IIDX 22 PENDUAL ended on December 17th, 2015.
