The Result Star system introduced in DanceDanceRevolution X3 vs 2ndMIX was carried over.  To access the EXTRA STAGE, you need to get 9 stars. Every time the player clears a song, they will get a certain amount of stars for a maximum of 3 stars per stage.
* AAA = 3 stars
* AA = 2 stars
* A-D = 1 star
* Song failed = no stars
 
In addition, you also gain an extra star for a full combo, and another star once after your first play each day.
 
Three special EXTRA STAGE songs were added on March 25th, 2014, as part of the [[TAG seitansai|TAG生誕祭]]. To access any of them, you must play songs from the ''"TAG's Birthday" Special Folder'' (『TAG生誕祭』特設フォルダ) inside the BEMANI folder. Each time you pass a TAG song, you get a flower mark on the song's jacket in the music select screen, to mark which song you've passed. The songs will be playable on the EXTRA STAGE as you obtain more flowers, with [[SABER WING (satellite silhouette remix)]] available after playing all the songs in the special folder.
