* Macuilxochitl (pronounced ma-cil-show-chit-tle) is the Aztec god of art, sports, music, dance, flowers, maize, and song. The word means "five flowers."
** Macuilxochitl is also the name of the sword held by Nyoah, one of the characters of The Epic of Zektbach.
*** Musically, both Macuilxochitl and Nyoah's Sword Dance 華麗なるニョアの剣舞 (from Zektbach's The Epic of Zektbach -Ristaccia- album) share various similarities.
*** Furthermore, when all of Macuilxochitl's charts are cleared with and without a FULL COMBO, the jubeat title parts "聖剣の持ち主" (Holy sword owner) and "ニョアの一番弟子" (Nyoah's best apprentice) are obtained, respectively.
*** 華麗なるニョアの剣舞 also appears in the BEMANI category in the ノスタルジア series, likely referencing its connection to Macuilxochitl.

* According to Tomosuke in his twitter, Macuilxochitl was originally a song made for beatmania IIDX. However, the jubeat staff wanted to have a jazzy classic piano song in their installment. It's said that a knight-cat held a legendary sword. The flood of sounds that played each time the sword was swung certainly sounded brilliant.

TOMOSUKE
Hello, it's me, TOMOSUKE.
I'm really sorry for the difficult-to-read title.
I also almost didn't say Macuilxochitl out loud until the end (laughs).
Instead of that, I'm curious about whether to pronounce it as Ma↑cu↓i↓l↓ or Ma↓cu↑i↓l↓.
I wonder if the intonation is broken in the Chubu region, like how they pronounce a certain fast food chain.
This song is a crossover originally from jubeat, but it's slightly different to the original.
I made the song's first-half more jazzy to match its character, SMOKE.
Of course, the footprints in the notecharts is filled with soda from that cat "look at this brilliant paw stamp!".
It sounds like a jazzy piano when you first listen to it, but it constantly has a mechanical and square beat instead of emphasizing its swinging backbeat like jazz, so it actually doesn't feel like a jazz piano to me.
Its image seems somewhat between inorganic and organic matter.
So, this song has a sibling.
I previously wrote about that story on Twitter, so if you're curious, please try to check it out!

"It's the boss~!", so I drew it with that motivation.
I enjoyed drawing many things I liked while listening to TOMOSUKE's speech.
It's a spinoff of a certain series, so I tried to indirectly make it understandable.
Everyone already know what I'm talking about, right?....
To those who say "?", please try to ask a nearby friend.
Although the jacket appears cute at a glance, the hell-like sequence seems difficult, MUSCLE!

I recently had a mysterious dream about a gray knight-cat brilliantly dancing.
Now it seems I can't help but enjoy analyzing that song.

eimy
Similar to knit, I hesitated about adding a pink house or chest hair to his outfit... I couldn't do it.
SMOKE's personality is such that he doesn't button his shirt, and even if it's cold, he doesn't seem to wear knitted clothing over his shirt, and he seems warm wearing one fluffy piece of knitted clothing.
I thought of additional animations while creating the dressing animations, and it was perhaps interesting to see SMOKE use his fingers to play jubeat! When I thought about this, I received the marker animations and notecharts. Thank you to the jubeat team for your pleasurable & quick response♪ Ta-da! I enjoyed their assistance in making the animations.
When I performed bug checks in pop'n, TOMOSUKE saw a cat's footprint on the music sheet illustrations? His smile left an impression on me. I don't know if SMOKE's footprints are troubling with his usual facial expressions, but I think it has thrilling high points~, shio^^

This is finally the last song!

"Macuilxochitl" is now available with Gold Lion rank!

You couldn't initially read it, right?...

So, as isonin wrote, this is a spinoff. Of that series.
That's why there's a "Z" press, right?! I included it.

Also, I actually prepared the EXTREME chart of this song a bit differently...

Somehow

There isn't a simultaneous two button press (left and right).

Did you get it?

In other words

If you can move your hands quickly, EXCELLENT is possible with only one hand!

If you're my top student, it's certainly possible!

That's what I was unreasonably preparing.
Well, if your hands move quickly, it's possible no matter how far away they are....
Maybe people with big hands can also clear it?

So, let's play jubeat using one hand! I'm not saying anything, but even if you don't feel you can get EXCELLENT with both hands, how about trying this once?
How about writing an article on the community blog commemorating the first notechart you tried using one hand? I'd be grinning as I read them!

Staff Comments
mayo
The piano sounds were so pleasant that I finished playing it before I knew it (laughs).
I want to listen to this song many times.

PON
This song, which was popularized in jubeat, is available here!
Playing the piano feels comfortable, pleasant, and vicious!? It's flowing.
In the latter half, the blue pop-kuns imitate that famous phrase, so please try your best and pay attention until the end.

tokky
Everyone around me called it "Macuil Macuil", so I just understood the Macuil part.
The difficult song title made me glad that its genre was PIANO CONTEMPORARY.

Ga~su~
No matter how many times I heard its name, I don't understand it and always called it "something like Michael".
No matter how many times I try it, my score is disastrous.

masaru
It's useless, even if it's written as a song title, I can't read it. wac explained it, but I still can't read it.
pop'n is also difficult since songs are called by its genre name.
I'm relieved that this song is of TOMOSUKE quality. The piano feels nice♪

Otsu
This song served as the vanguard in the APPEND FESTIVAL.
I usually remember most crossover songs by their genre names, but I perfectly remembered this song by its song title.
I thought it was abbreviated. Is it because no one can pronounce its full name!?

Chihi
This song title is like a symbol...
From the moment I first saw it, I gave up on reading it. And I didn't dare know it until now.
But I finally learned it. Your name is "xochitl"!
I like the direct way in pop'n which lets them wear knitted clothing here and there.

Mameshiba
It's very difficult to read this song title. I already gave up on "Macuil".
TOMOSUKE came to PON, who was creating the notecharts, to give him various instructions.
jubeat's initial marker seems to write GOOD in a soda color, and furthermore, this song has strict judgement and is easy to make the screen soda colored.
That's why he said to increase the blue pop-kuns at that time. It's soda-ish.
I think the ending of the song comment "soda" contains such thoughts.
It's not my pun. Don't get me wrong.

shio
I received my favorite TOMOSUKE piano meal. However, what does he eat to create these kinds of songs?... It's too cool and sneaky. I had trouble selecting all the delicious songs from jubeat, not just Macuil. In other words, please keep up the good work ^^.

Furthermore, I also received a smile from the academy leader TOMOSUKE. Yay! I wanted to see it!
The illustration is... actually... I had an image of the moment "the cat walks over the music sheet on the floor, where its footprints made a miraculous chord!".
By the way. I like the excuse where the cat walks over the keyboard and presses, in order, Command +A → delete → Command +S! That's right.

TAMA
I was the only person in team SMOKE with chest hair.
SMOKE probably has MAX glumness with his bare front and thick chest hair~!
And I passionately told them, but they rejected it with more force.

wac
A collaborative plan, heave-ho, APPEND, heave-ho, I received a kind proposal from jubeat requesting me to steal any of their songs.

I listened to the soundtrack on repeat and happily selected the song, but behind the scenes, there was stealing from rivals, no, bargaining, collusion, and competition everywhere with each BEMANI game series.
The deciding factor in choosing Macuil wasn't just that the song was extremely cool, but it was the missing component among this entire song lineup. TOMOSUKE's instrumental and piano is great. Please write more.

The song and pronunciation is difficult to understand, but so are the notecharts. Please brilliantly try PON's dedicated soda bar.
By the way, I don't know how to read it, but only difficult part is the "x" in the middle, isn't it?
