* First style to feature a different style of music for its extra stage system (EMPRESS PLACE) depending on which level of difficulty is chosen; the pitch shifts up to an eerier minor when the ANOTHER difficulty is highlighted.

* First beatmania IIDX game whose soundtrack has been released on the Japanese iTunes store, under the title ''beatmania IIDX 16 EMPRESS Music Selection''.

** Despite the "Music Selection" subtitle, it contains all the KONAMI originals from the game.
