Production I.G is a Japanese animation studio founded in 1987 by Mitsuhisa Ishikawa. It is located in Musashino, Tokyo, Japan. The I.G in the company's name comes from the combination of Ishikawa's last name and the first letter in the last name of character designer Takayuki Goto.
