This is the first appearance of Hyper notecharts in the series. Very few songs have them, though.
This is the first Pop'n Music game to keep track of your note combo.
This is the first game in the series to have nonstop mode, in which you play a series of songs straight without breaks between songs.
Katoaka Tsugumi (Parquets), Atsushi Shindo, and Kume Yuki (Q-Mex) make their debut in the series. Ma-You makes his only appearance in the series outside of Pop'n Stage.
This is the last arcade version to run on beatmania hardware.
The soundtrack in this game is the last one to combine both the arcade and the console-exclusive songs from its PlayStation / Dreamcast counterpart on the same CD.
The song Bit of Love was never released on a soundtrack.
