Trivia
- The video for SCREAM SQUAD is filmed in Rome's Termini railway station, with other segments filmed in various places in Italy. Toward the end there is what appears to be a shot of Venice, and an old-style Roman articulated tram.
- SCREAM SQUAD marks Takehiko Fujii's first use of his CALF alias in the beatmania IIDX series.
- SCREAM SQUAD currently has the least amount of notes for a Single Another chart rated a 12 in beatmania IIDX.
- Consequentially, the prevous record holder was BLOCKS, another Takehiko Fujii song whose Single Another was downgraded to an 11 in beatmania IIDX 13 DistorteD, the same game SCREAM SQUAD's Single Another became a 12.
Song Production Information
The genre is BREAKCORE, but the song really wants to be more like old school breakbeats. It's fast, but I was hoping to pull off the feeling like when an experienced F1 driver thinks the high speeds he's going at are slow. I wonder if I overdid it with the speed - this song is a confirmation that BPM and the feeling of how fast the song is aren't always directly related. So, even if you're playing it slowly, I hope you'll pick up the pace.
Video Production Information
A CALF song. This time again it's tasteful and cool. It's like platforms and stone paved streets made out of foreign materials. CALF songs always have a sort of Japanese feel to them, yeah? Is it supposed to be classical? Directional? No matter what, I wanted to try to make the movie match up in feeling.
This time around I tried to think more like a VJ, letting my skils as a designer start to unfold even before the song begins. If you've got a song that fits with the idea of using lots of stock short clips, VJ-style, you pick a choice image from among the stock footage to build your video around. That's how I made this movie.
