Taka "And here we are, producing 7th style"
good-cool "What kind of songs are you doing this time?"
TAKA "Have any good ideas?"
good-cool "A song with lots of scratching? (As usual.)"
TAKA "Hm, that's not enough ... "
good-cool "How about a house song with lyrics? (As usual.)"
TAKA "Well, I don't know ... "
good-cool "Well, how about something with a disco feel? (As usual.)"
TAKA "Hmmmmmm ... something still doesn't feel right."
good-cool "I know! How about a trancey song? One that feels like it's rushing on into the morning♪"
TAKA "We already have a bunch like that ... "
good-cool "....."
TAKA "....."
good-cool "....."
TAKA "Heeey, what's up aaall, I'm dj TAKA!!"
good-cool "WHAT THE HELL!?"
TAKA "I figured out a good genre!"
good-cool "Why don't we blend some together?"
TAKA "My stomatitis is acting up ... *mumble mumble*"
good-cool " ... are you listening to me?"
Hey everyone, good evemornighting! The blazing guitarist ... hmmmmmmm ... I'm sorry, I've been terribly rude. I've challenged several genres in the past, but a genre has come to light that's especially appropriate for IIDX that I haven't touched on. As a result of heated discussion with TAKA, we decided to try drawing out all the pop elements of every genre and making a song out of all of them. The name of this genre is "Pops".
Since this involved drawing out pop material with no regard for direction whatsoever, several strange things happened.
a. Backing high hat becomes a house feel, but the kick drum doing the back beat becomes totally inaudible.
b. The rhythm is kind of like 2step, but I think the tones around the drums are totally different.
c. The groove is kind of like old-time disco, but it's also made up of lots of particularly digital sounds.
d. The scratches have a particular appeal to them, but no matter how you take it, that's a sign of hip-hop.
e. It seems kind of like proto-funk, but if you listen closely the beat is too proper.
f. The backing track has a kind of tough feel to it, but for some reason it has attractive female vocals.
etc.
This is the ambiguous personality of "Somebody Like You". When you listen to the various parts that make up the song, surely you think of them all as pop. The melody itself is a bit odd, but I myself rather like it *g*
I figured the vocalist, Mickin', isn't just any regular singer for being able to pull off such an odd song. Even TAKA, who was present at the recording, had a look on his face that practically screamed, "Well, this is an unexpected finish!"
Aaaaaaaa, TAKA, what kind of a genre am I going to do next *sweatdrop* Anyway, let's meet up with wac while eating regular (10x) curry in secret!♪
Video Production Notes
It's like being able to drink a concentrated juice made up of all the different colors and tastes of good-cool music in pure, undiluted form ... that's the kind of too-delicious song this is.
