Everyone~, good morneveningello!! The blazing guitarist... cough cough... I'm very sorry.
I've challenged various genres in the past, but I have discovered a genre that's especially appropriate for IIDX that I haven't touched on.
As a result of serious and heated discussions with TAKA, we decided to extract pop elements from every genre and combine them into one song. That's why this genre is "Pops".

Since this song involved extracting pop materials, regardless of what comes next, strange things occurred.

a. Backing high hat feels like house for a moment, but the 4-beat kick drum couldn't be heard.

b. The rhythm seems similar to 2Step, but I think the tones around the drums feel somewhat different.

c. The groove is kind of like old disco, but it sounds like strange digital sounds.

d. The scratches have a strong appeal, but there's no sign of hearing Hip Hop.

e. It roughly seems like funk, but when you listen closely, the beat is strange and just correct.

f. Even though the backing track has a tough impression, but for some reason it has attractive female vocals.

And so on.

"Somebody Like You" was born with such vague concept.
When you listen to each part that you can hear the song, surely you think of them all as pop.
The melody itself feels somewhat mysterious, but I like it a little (laughs)

I thought Mickin', who sings such a strange song well without hesitation, wasn't just an ordinary person. Even TAKA, who was present at the recording, had an expression of, "This is an unexpected finish!"

Oh~~~, TAKA, what genre should I do from now on? (sweating)
