Music Production Info

Commentary by dj TAKA:

Here's a drum'n'bass track by ram jam world, who I suspect has a lot of fans. This quick, sharp track can only be heard on beatmania IIDX 2nd style. The sharp drums and heavy bass line are characteristic of this track, which just feels a spy song to me for some reason. Anyway, we recorded a hidden version of this song. I wonder if anyone has found it yet? Maybe the better players? You should watch the video, too.

Video Production Info

The first time I listened to this song, I thought, "it needs a spy movie". Even when I started drawing pictures, the image just wouldn't stop appearing in my head, so I thought it would be fun to challenge myself with drawing a kind of animated short esentially using moving stills. It centered around a character who looked like something out of old American detective comics. The character design was by GOLI, and I added a few things here and there. We finished it in the unique monochrome style you may now be familiar with, which lent it even more of a comic-book feel. Now, for those of you who want to know all the details about this little drama, there are extensive character descriptions on GOLI'S ART, so I hope you'll all take a look.

Nothing is known about this man except his code name. He is a spy for the illegal underground organization "DELTA". The name "Junglist King" denotes a master of the urban concrete jungle, a spy among spies who wins big in the city nights. It is a name given to him out of respect and fear. He earns his living by getting into corporate work places, usually posing as an ordinary company employee, and stealing sensitive corporate documents. He is a suave, quick-witted master of disguise. His muscles have been strengthened thanks to special surgery done by the DELTA organization, and he is five times as strong as most men. He is an extremely cool and collected character. His ultimate motives are unknown.

Ellen Kaufman, known throughout the underworld by her code name "Call Cat" as a mistress of information. Originally holding a job as a detective, she lost her husband and daughter in an accident. Losing her will to live, she happened to meet Gavin, the leader of "DELTA"; from then on she became his number one source of information. She does not think well of J.K., who always works cold and mechanically, never showing his human side. Extremely upset on the occasions that J.K. can manage to show her up, she has to be calmed down by Gavin himself. Lately the Japanese dish natto has been her favorite food.

RICHARD ... ... ... RICHARD RUSSELL

AGE / 41
BORN / 9.16.1958
BLOOD TYPE / A
COUNTRY / U.S.
SEX / MALE

Richard Russell, CIA agent. Supervisor of a department that deals primarily with military secrets. He has recently become aware of the existence of a man called "J.K.", who seems to appear and disappear in circumstances involving leaks of military secrets. Richard is investigating J.K.'s connection to the underground organization "DELTA". A family man, he has a wife and children. At home he is an extremely devoted father. Lately he has been having contests with his son to see who can handle chopsticks better. He is allergic to cats.

RUSSELL'S REPORT

My esteemed fellow citizens,

The spy organization called "DELTA" has been conducting secret manoeuvers concerning the military installations and defense industry of our nation that threaten our national security. The sudden increase in disclosures of military secrets has aroused many suspicions, and our organization has conducted an internal investigation in an attempt to find the source. We have discovered that nearly all of the recent leaks have occurred due to the actions of members of the DELTA organization. DELTA owes no allegiance to any one nation, but acts like a mercenary unit, and its members are wrapped deeply in the shadows of the underworld; only the organization's name is widely known. Please let us know any information you know about this organization, no matter how trivial it may seem.

The authorities have received a wealth of information concerning "DELTA" from a former spy who has sought protection from the FBI. To encourage public education regarding and participation in this investigation, we are releasing the image of a DELTA ID card at this time. This spy has confessed to discovering secrets from many military organizations primarily through hacking and will be cooperating with the authorities to aid in their investigations. He is under special protection as part of this deal to protect him from any possible acts of vengeance from DELTA. As such, identifying information has been withheld at his request.
