Introduced a new difficulty system, rating songs on a scale of 1 to 99 in difficulty. This would be used for the rest of the classic series, including V-V8.
First of two games with Multisession, allowing you to combine GuitarFreaks, drummania, and Keyboardmania together to play songs on.
New composer: Osamu Migitera
Long-time vocalists MAKI and Miyuki Kunitake join the series.
