pop'n music CS

Release Information

  • Release date: February 25th, 1999
  • First home pop'n music title, released on both Dreamcast and PlayStation.
    • The only difference between the two versions are that the Dreamcast uses a time based unlock and the PlayStation uses the number of song plays instead.
  • Retail value: 4,800 yen (without controller)

General Information / Changes

  • Only pop'n CS game without Records mode.
  • First pop'n music game with 5 BUTTON and 7 BUTTON modes, which autoplay notes for you (the white and yellow buttons on 5, and the white buttons on 7). Scores save while these are on, but your score will be lower due to the usage of autoplay. These can only be activated in OPTION or on the title screen the first time you start a new file.
    • 5 BUTTON would become a separate difficulty level in the CS releases in pop'n music 5 CS.
  • The Dreamcast version of pop'n music is capable of VGA mode.
  • Total songs: 19
