A musical phrase that occurred to me while strolling down the sparkling streets of Vienna at the end of the century is now resurrected now in Tokyo. It's full of a romanticism that scatters about, chilling me to the bone with excitement. Though the signature goes to 6/8 thanks to the jazz and swing elements I used as a base, this song is really a waltz at its core. It becomes a triumphant(?) fugue in the middle, but at the end its passion returns with a fury than no-one can withstand!

Vienna, the capital of Austria, has lent its name to this song. Unfortunately, I've never been to Vienna, so I could only assemble indirect material for a movie. I remember talking to [[Takayuki Ishikawa|dj TAKA]] a lot, trying to figure out what I should do. Since the name of the song was a name of an actual place, I felt that I should try to find some fitting scenery images. When I gave it some more thought, I realized it might be better to assemble something that captured the spirit of Vienna in a less direct fashion. Struggling along with thoughts of what sort of things wouldn't express the changes in spirit that define this city, I had the idea of replacing the concept of "the soul" with water to take advantage of its constant motion to convey these ideas. I experimented using various processes to align this abstract form with the spirit of the song. I'm very pleased with the form of presentation that opened up this new circumstance, and I think the result was magnificent. I think it would be good to play this song surrendering your body to the light and sound.
