For every play of beatmania IIDX, regardless of the mode chosen or if you clear a stage or not, CP is awarded. You use CP to purchase weapons to clear the viruses. As you clear more of the viruses, you unlock song charts, unlock new weapons, and upgrade your code level to earn more CP per play. Some tiles also require more hits to clear (for example, Level 2 tiles requires 2 hits to clear).<br>
