Lyrics

Romaji

kawashita yakusoku wasurenai yo
me wo toji tashikameru
oshiyoseta yami furiharatte susumu yo

itsu ni nattara nakushita mirai wo
watashi koko de mata miru koto dekiru no?

afuredashita fuan no kage wo nando demo saite
kono sekai ayun de kou

tomedonaku kizamareta toki wa ima hajimari tsuge
kawaranai omoi wo nose
tozasareta tobira akeyou

mezameta kokoro wa hashiridashita mirai wo egaku tame
muzukashii michi de tachidomatte mo
sora wa kirei na aosa de itsumo mattete kureru
dakara kowakunai
mou nani ga atte mo kujikenai

English

I won't forget the promises we exchanged
I close my eyes to affirm it
I will shake off the overwhelming darkness to move forward

When will I ever be able
To see the lost future from here again?

Let's move forward in this world
By shattering the overflowing shadows of anxiety again and again

Time now begins to tick away incessantly
Let's open the closed door
While carrying our unchanging feelings

My heart awakes in order to depict the future
Even if I come to a halt on a tough road
The beautiful blue sky always waits for me
Therefore I'm not afraid
I won't be disheartened anymore no matter what happens

Song Connections / Remixes

  • The jubeat plus / REFLEC BEAT plus / ポップンリズミン ClariS packs use the original version of コネクト, while all the other BEMANI games use a cover version of コネクト by 2B-Waves.
  • An orchestra remix of コネクト, titled コネクト -Orchestra ver.- (short EDIT), can be found in the limited anime edition of the Luminous (ルミナス) single.
  • A dance instumental remix of コネクト by NIHILISTICA, titled コネクト -ゲームインスト-, can be found on third soundtrack bundled with the sixth volume of the limited edition Blu-ray/DVD/CD combo of the TV series and was later included on the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Music Collection (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ MUSIC COLLECTION) album.
  • Another cover of コネクト can be found in ノスタルジア.

Trivia

  • コネクト is used as the opening theme of the Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ, also known as Puella Magi Madoka Magica) anime series.
    • It was later used as an insert song for the Gekijouban Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (Kouhen): Eien no Monogatari (劇場版 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ[後編] 永遠の物語, Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Eternal) film of the anime movie adaptation trilogy.
  • Coincidentally, one of the anime's main characters, Kyoko Sakura (佐倉 杏子), is seen playing the dance instrumental version of コネクト, (コネクト -ゲームインスト-), on a Dog Drug Reinforcement arcade game, a DanceDanceRevolution-like machine, in the sixth episode of the anime.
  • コネクト was later included on ClariS's first album, BIRTHDAY, and was also included in the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Music Collection (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ MUSIC COLLECTION) album.
  • On the pop'n music 20 fantasia location tests, the character for コネクト was Minit's [14-1P].
    • According to shio, Minit's was changed because there were notes left by players on the location tests that said that ゆずれない願い's Nyami fitted the song more than Minit's.
  • コネクト was one of the few songs that received an embed audio preview on the pop'n music 20 fantasia homepage. It was changed to a YouTube preview later.
  • None of the コネクト covers can be found on any soundtrack.
  • According to PON, he had a hard time finding a vocalist for the コネクト cover.
  • コネクト received an EASY chart in pop'n music Sunny Park, replacing its old 5-Buttons chart.
  • コネクト was added to the BEMANI Category folder in pop'n music Sunny Park.
  • コネクト was removed from DanceDanceRevolution (2014) on November 14th, 2014.
    • It was also absent from the North American location tests of DanceDanceRevolution (2014).
  • コネクト was removed from pop'n music ラピストリア on December 3rd, 2014.
    • It was the only song removed in pop'n music ラピストリア during its run.
  • コネクト was removed from jubeat prop on September 14th, 2015.
  • コネクト received new Normal and Hard charts on the final release of ノスタルジア.
  • コネクト received a Real chart in ノスタルジア Op.2 on October 25th, 2018.
