Hello, I'm Daisuke Tanabe. This is my second participation in BEMANI, after in the Sky (from the PS2 version of IIDX12 Happy Sky).

Movie / Daisuke Tanabe
The last movie was a CG-based work, but this time it's a live-action one.
Usually, I'm a computer graphics artist, so camera work could be freely done on a computer, but I struggled with the physical and budget constraints of physical camera work. How could I bring out my own colors in such a situation? There are a number of things that could have been better if I had taken some shots when I was editing, but overall, I'm quite satisfied with the result.
Hello, this is Daisuke Tanabe. This is my second movie, after in the sky from beatmania IIDX HAPPY SKY PS2 version and I was happy to participate in this.
I was excited from the moment the idea came to me, and I enjoyed working on it during the whole process.

Combining the CG work with the live action shots was hard.
Usually, one can Photoshop CG elements onto a movie. However, because of all the camera work stored in the computer, along with the budget constraints, it was a struggle. It was difficult to find places where to add the color CGs. We ended up cutting more out of the movie than I would have wanted, and there was some post-production editing that I wasn't happy with, but overall... I am satisfied with the work.
The whole process, from the beginning to filming to the end, was exciting.
Now, a bit of explanation about the movie.
Now, a bit of explanation about the movie.
An understudy of the pianist received a draft card just before the beginning of World War I.
It was before World War I, and a pianist received a call-up notice.
To ease his feelings of torment and pain before his draft day, he played the piano constantly .
On the day of his summons, he plays the piano alone to calm his feelings. He is tormented by anguish, but gradually regains his composure and strengthens his resolve.

The title of the song is in French, meaning before war. I immediately thought of the artwork of World War I.
Remembering the artwork and the music of the time, I conjured up an image of light and darkness, floating, switching between stability and instability, eventually crowding and becoming overwhelming, similar to that in war.
I hope that you appreciate and feel the link between the music and the video.
In the recording of the video, the song contained a lot of sixteenth notes and triplets, as well as lasting over 8 minutes! It was a great time.
If you can, watch the video behind someone who is skilled playing this game, but don't get too close! (laughs)

Another thing to add.
I enjoyed filming Osamu with the camera dolly. Did he say that the rotation of the camera and the dolly made him feel ill? I thought that was a frivolous claim.
I also would like to thank Niatari for his assistance with the camera and the dolly, even though he arrived late, and GYO for his assistance. He was out of breath helping to control the dolly, and was attentive to the details of the CGs.
----------
I looked up the meaning of the title and found that it is French for "before the war", which refers to the artistic trend before World War I in particular. After listening to the song, images of light and darkness, stability and instability came to mind, and I added war elements into the mix to create this flow.
I would be happy if you could play the game and feel the link between the music and the video.
However, the song is actually full of sixteenth notes and eighth triplet chords! It must be great in the game. I don't think you'll have time to watch the video so please take your time and watch it from the back of a skillful player. That's what I'm going to do (laughs).

Movie / Risa Fujii
By the way, I found out this time that shooting in a dolly is fun, but you get dizzy. I wonder if the photographers who take dolly and crane photos take anti-sickness medicine. I thought about such trivial things.

As the director of this movie, Tanabe was perfect.
I would like to thank GYO for helping me even though he was present at the shoot, Perry for pushing the dolly many times when I was out of breath, and Rittan, a former super AD with a quick wittedness.

Daisuke Tanabe

Hello, I'm Daisuke Tanabe. This is my second participation in BEMANI, after in the Sky (from the PS2 version of IIDX12 Happy Sky).

I was excited from the moment the idea came to me, and I enjoyed working on it during the whole process.

Now, a bit of explanation about the movie.
It was before World War I, and a pianist received a call-up notice.
On the day of his summons, he plays the piano alone to calm his feelings. He is tormented by anguish, but gradually regains his composure and strengthens his resolve.

By the way, I found out this time that shooting in a dolly is fun, but you get dizzy. I wonder if the photographers who take dolly and crane photos take anti-sickness medicine. I thought about such trivial things.

I would like to thank GYO for helping me even though he was present at the shoot, Perry for pushing the dolly many times when I was out of breath, and Rittan, a former super AD with a quick wittedness.

Risa Fujii (Rittan)

Director tanabe's organization on the set was perfect.

Hideaki Takahashi (Perry)

Director tanabe's leadership on the set was fascinating.
