Markers are indicators that pop up when and where a note should be hit. The official names of the markers were first revealed in jubeat ripples, and were first shown in the arcade titles' marker selection screen in jubeat Qubell.

Information taken from jubeat@Wiki.

How to choose a marker

Depending on which marker you choose, pressing, visibility/perception, and speed will be different. Because each marker has individual differences, you should aim for a marker that suits you from the beginning animation until the perfect animation. In comparison to other rhythm games, markers are comparable to "HI-SPEED" options.

Currently known order for reaction time is as follows:
Long ← Fireworks, knit, Gauge, Shutter, Flower, Touch, Mirror ball → Short

(Please add where other markers fit)

Basically, the further right you go, the markers become more difficult to react to and are much faster. These types of markers are better suited for advanced players. The markers to the left of the scale are slower, better for beginners are easier to read/react to.

There are many different markers but most of them fall under similar sub categories. Most markers are based off of the markers introduced in the first few games, so for simplicity sake we will refer to these sub catagories as: Cyber, Shutter, Ripples, Left Right, Instant, Gauge, Ring, and Yubiko types. For reference, check the lists down below to see what each type's direction consists of.

jubeat

Cyber

Cyber marker banner.png

The default marker of jubeat.

  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: from center / afar.
  • Animation: a circle enlarging with a cybernetic animation, and "TOUCH" is displayed at the center.
  • Speed: normal, constant.
  • Timing: when the circle fully enlarged and "TOUCH" is displayed.
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: small red blast.
    • Good: light blue blast.
    • Great: yellow blast.
    • Perfect: rainbow color / white blast.
  • Background with complementary color: blue.

Timing can be judged even with a triangle reflected in an oblique direction.

Since the starting point of the marker is small, you may lose sight of it if you are not accustomed to the chart.

It may be common for players to become accustomed to Cyber before they notice that there are other markers, and to continue to use Cyber through to the current games.

Flower

Flower marker banner.png
  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: from center / afar.
  • Animation: a blossoming flower, and "TOUCH" is displayed at the center when the flower is in full bloom.
  • Speed: quite fast, constant.
  • Timing: when the flower is in full bloom and "TOUCH" is displayed.
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: small green light.
    • Good: green leaves scattering.
    • Great: orange flower petals scattering.
    • Perfect: flower petals in vivid colors and green leaves scattering.
  • Background with complementary color: blue or green.

Sometimes it can be hard to notice the difference between the PERFECT and GREAT judgments.

Because its a fast, flashy/flamboyant marker, it is often used in videos to check/study charts.

This is one of the most popular markers, along with Shutter.

Afro

Afro marker banner.png
  • Type: Left right
  • Direction: from left and right.
  • Animation: "TOUCH" appears from left and right to the middle, while the number of the lights on the top increases from 1 to 3 to 5.
  • Speed: quite slow, decreasing (for "TOUCH" only; the speed of the lights are constant).
  • Timing: when "TOUCH" is in the middle and there are 5 lights on the top.
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: stepping in rhythm, facing away (with blue floor light).
    • Good: stepping dance, facing towards the player (with blue floor light).
    • Great: 1 person performing break dance from nearby, and 2 people performing stepping dance from afar (with orange floor light).
    • Perfect: 1 person jumping from nearby, and 2 people performing break dance from afar (with glittering floor light).
  • Background with complementary color: blue.

In the marker selection screen, the face of an Afro dancer is displayed in a single yellow color on a black background.

Judgment can be distinguished not only by animation but also by color, making it easy to understand. However, it is not very good for horizontal patterns.

Because it is easy to get Greats when starting out, it is better to try to press late with this marker.

Since the display speed is slow, it tends to be messy on high-density charts.

Shutter

Shutter marker banner.png
  • Type: Shutter
  • Direction: From around
  • Animation:Things like camera shutters close from all sides. "TOUCH" appears from the top and bottom just before closing, and they overlap when closing
  • Speed: normal
  • Timing: When the shutter closes and "TOUCH" overlaps
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Small brown explosion
    • Good: Explosion in light blue
    • Great:Yellow middle explosion (hexagonal explosion)
    • Perfect:Brown explosion (white and dazzling)
  • Background with complementary color: blue

Touch comes out right before closing, so its easy to press.

Since the entire screen is used from the beginning, it is suitable for blind spot countermeasures. However, it tends to be vulnerable to mashing.

A popular marker whose usage rate stands out alongside Flower.

Blue Ring

Blue ring marker banner.png
  • Type: Ring
  • Direction: All
  • Animation: "TOUCH" is displayed and expands. At the same time, the blue gauge forms a ring clockwise
  • Speed: normal
  • Timing: When a blue ring is created and "TOUCH" is expanded
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: The light blue square rotates.
    • Good: The middle pink square rotates
    • Great: The yellow square is rotating
    • Perfect: Large green square rotates
  • Background with complementary color: yellow

High versatility. It is difficult to determine the timing deviation on a chart with many diagonal arrangements

Judgment is confusing with this marker, so those who are not used to it should be careful.

Project DIVA players may do well with it.

Fireworks

Fireworks marker banner.png
  • Type: Instant
  • Direction: All
  • Display operation: Orange frames appear on all sides and become thicker and thicker. At the same time, a circular sight is displayed slightly above the center, and then fireworks (white dots) are launched toward the center of the circle. A yellow ring spreads from the sight after just timing
  • Speed: Very slow (slowest marker in the game)
  • Timing: When the fireworks overlap the center of the aim (The center of the circular aim can be determined by the intersection of the cross line connecting the slits entering the top, bottom, left and right)

The GOOD point is inside the sight (circle), so just entering the circle does not necessarily mean perfect.

  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: A small, yellowish explosion.
    • Good: A single green firework exploding.
    • Great: Two red and purple fireworks exploding.
    • Perfect: Many fireworks in red, green, yellow, and purple exploding including a large circular firework.
  • Background with complementary color: Blue/Black

Since it is displayed from the outer frame suddenly, it is great for a blind spot countermeasure like Shutter. Outer frame appears instantly and does not change, so it is the best marker for distinction and discrepancy.

Due to the slow display speed, it is difficult for distinction in a high speed chart. Some people feel that they are playing on low speed or HIDDEN option compared with other rhythm games.

Very versatile, such as for checking chart patterns.

In the perfect judgment, if you can see that the central circle is bordered in yellow, you can judge that the timing is late. If you aim for perfection with this marker, aim your hits to the center circle right in the crosshair.

Target

Target marker banner.png
  • Type: Left/Right
  • Direction: from left and right
  • Animation: Two types of sights from the upper right and lower left overlap in the center while drawing an arc, and "TOUCH" is displayed
  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: When two sights overlap and "TOUCH" is displayed
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late:Shoot a small coin
    • Good: Shoot a small empty can
    • Great: Shoot a large barrel
    • Perfect:Shoot a big chandelier
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

Note that the judgment display remains for a very long time. May be confusing by with other notes in close proximity.

Egg

Egg marker banner.png
  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: From the back
  • Animation: A dwarf with a stick appears at the lower right and lower left, and breaks when the egg expanding from the back grows larger.
  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: When the egg is expanded to maximum and When a dwarf breaks an egg
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: The egg hatches into a single chick
    • Good: The egg hatches into a two chicks.
    • Great: The egg hatches into three chicks.
    • Perfect: The egg hatches into a chicken.
  • Background with complementary color: blue

It may be easier to press with the movement of the dwarf as a guide. Since the evaluation judgment animation changes greatly, it is very easy to understand whether the timing is good or bad.

Contrary to its comical appearance, it has high utility value when you want to raise the score of BASIC chart, or for checking timing. Not suitable for high density charts.

Recommended for beginners just getting started.

Gauge

Gauge marker banner.png
  • Type: Gauge
  • Direction: From below
  • Animation: The gauge of yellow-green (though it may appear to be light blue for some people) rises
  • Speed: a little slow
  • Timing: When the gauge is fully raised
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: red shutter
    • Good: light blue shutter, light blue lightning
    • Great: green shutter white thunder
    • Perfect: iridescent shutter, iridescent explosion, white thunder
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

The position that becomes PERFECT is not red, all gauges are yellow green. Suitable for practice of timing.

BEMANI players who have just moved from other games (especially ones that have bottom to top scrolling) should get used to this marker.

Strong marker in the horizontal direction, but it becomes difficult to judge vertically. The animation is similar to the knit marker, so it may be good to try it when the person who started using knit decides to change the marker.

Ice

Ice marker banner.png
  • Type: Shutter
  • Direction: From all around and the back
  • Animation: Light blue ice covers the screen from around. The word "BREAK" pops out from the back
  • Speed: a little fast
  • Timing: When the ice completely covers the screen and "BREAK" becomes maximum and becomes yellow.
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Ice breaks red
    • Good: Ice breaks blue and white ripples spread slowly
    • Great: The ice breaks into green and at the same time white ripples spread quickly (it is very difficult to distinguish from GOOD)
    • Perfect:Ice breaks violently with white light
  • Background with complementary color: green or yellow

The letters are yellow so visibility is good. Can be identified by the color intensity. Since the color is light overall, the darkest green is suitable for the background.

Strong against mashing and close distinctions. It may be better to press earlier, when the background ice completely covers the screen.

Volcano

Volcano marker banner.png
  • Type: Gauge
  • Direction: From below
  • Animation: A volcano appears at the bottom of the screen and expands, and when it expands to the maximum, "TOUCH" is displayed on the surface of the volcano.
  • Speed: a little slow
  • Timing: When the volcano swells to the maximum and the top is dyed red, and "TOUCH" is displayed in red
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Small smolder without smoke
    • Good: Smoke and smolder
    • Great: Small explosion
    • Perfect:Large explosion (volcano spits rocks, screen turns white overall)
  • Background with complementary color: blue

The mountain expands more roundly than the triangle, so be careful not to go too fast before getting used to it

Digital Block

Digital block marker banner.png
  • Type: Gauge
  • Direction: From the top
  • Animation: Colorful blocks are piled up in the shape of "TOUCH"
  • Speed: normal
  • Timing: When blocks are assembled in the shape of "TOUCH"
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Red blocks disappear
    • Good: Light blue block disappears
    • Great: The green block disappears
    • Perfect: Glistening golden, disappearing flashily
  • Background with complementary color: dark

Greater difference in sense of distance than the regular Blocks marker.

If you use it for practice during a high-scoring attempt, you can easily understand the areas you are not good at. It's a good idea to be conscious of this once and then use other good markers to make your actual attempt.

Sand Art

Sand art marker banner.png
  • Type: Shutter
  • Direction: Left and Right and Top and Bottom
  • Animation: A yellow ring and a unique pattern appear from all sides, and they overlap toward the center of the screen.
  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: When four yellow rings and patterns overlap
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Small red diamond
    • Good:The blue diamonds rotate
    • Great: Yellow octagon
    • Perfect: A beautiful rainbow-colored pattern
  • Background with complementary color: blue

PERFECT shines brightly, so it may be good for confirming the judgment.

It can be said that this is a variation of Shutter that covers the outer frame and then converges to the center. It is suitable for blind spot countermeasures, but it tends to be bad if mashing.

A dark background makes it hard to see the beginning, but a light background makes it easier to see.

Soap Ball

Soap ball marker banner.png
  • Type: Left right
  • Direction: From bottom left and top right corners to the middle.
  • Animation: Small bubbles appear from the outside and center, merge into the full screen size, and "TOUCH" is displayed.
  • Speed: normal
  • Timing: When bubbles are united and "TOUCH" is displayed
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: White small explosion
    • Good: White medium explosion
    • Great: Yellow explosion (compared to GOOD, there are some effects in the four corners)
    • Perfect: Iridescent explosion
  • Background with complementary color: Dark

Since the color is light, it may be difficult to see when the background bonus points shutter is fully open.

Since the animation is large, it is also effective as a blind spot countermeasure. Soap ball marker speed is about the same as Shutter.

Okojo

Okojo marker banner.png
  • Type: Gauge
  • Direction: From bottom left
  • Animation: One Okojo comes out from the three holes at the bottom, one by one from the left.

“TO”, “U”, and “CH” are displayed according to the occasion. At perfect timing, the background turns orange.

  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: When three Okojo jump out and "TOUCH" is complete
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Jumping one Okojo, a small yellow star in the background
    • Good: Jumping two Okojo, a big yellow star in the background
    • Great: 3 jumps, large white stars in the background
    • Perfect: Okojo Ranbu, rainbow background
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

The type is gauge, but there is no blind spot because the background is colored instantaneously.

Extremely bad for reading horizontal patterns, but good for EXC's because of how much the perfect animation stands out.

Mirror Ball

Mirror ball marker banner.png
  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: From the back
  • Animation: A mirror ball with the word "TOUCH" pops out vigorously
  • Speed: very, very fast.
  • Timing: When the mirror ball is fully expanded
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Very small and glowing white
    • Good: Some small light leaks from the mirror ball
    • Great: Medium rainbow explosion
    • Perfect: A bright rainbow-colored explosion over the entire screen
  • Background with complementary color: Green

Incredibly difficult to react to, not recommended for beginner players. Good to use for STEALTH practice. It can be used as a way to build your reaction speed, but only for super advanced players.

jubeat ripples

ripples

Ripples marker banner.png
  • Type: Ripples
  • Direction: Top to bottom
  • Animation: The corrugated shutter closes from above and below, and "TOUCH" is displayed.
  • Speed: a little slow
  • Timing: When the wave shutter is completely closed and "TOUCH" is displayed
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late:Gray circle
    • Good:Light blue circle
    • Great:Light blue vortex (right rotation)
    • Perfect:Yellow vortex (counterclockwise)
  • Background with complementary color: yellow

Easy to press, but because it is a little slow it can be hard for high density charts.

Torus

Torus marker banner.png
  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: From the back
  • Animation: Yellow ring expands
  • Speed: a little fast
  • Timing: When the outer ring is fully overlapped with the outer ring of the inner ring
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: A small thick pink ring
    • Good: Two thin blue rings (2 small and medium sizes)
    • Great: Medium thick ring of blue color, if you look closely you will see a small ring around
    • Perfect: A large red thick ring, with many small rings coming out of its center
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

Blur

Bowler marker banner.png
  • Type: Instant
  • Direction: Instantly appears
  • Animation: Blurred pink tiles and "TOUCH" gradually become clear
  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: When the tile becomes clear and "TOUCH" is clearly displayed
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Red tiles are scattered small
    • Good: Blue tiles rotate
    • Great: green tiles rotate
    • Perfect: Colorful tiles rotate and glitter and rainbow
  • Background with complementary color: Green

Since the fluorescent pink uses the entire screen from the beginning, it has a really good blind spot countermeasure, rivaling Firework and Shutter. It is good for distinctions, but tends to be vulnerable to mashing and madness because changes can become hard to understand in dense charts.

Easy to judge, with perfect being very distinct. Recommended for those who tend to hit early with fireworks.

After the word Touch appears the color of the tile will be beige, so it can be judged that the timing is late, but since you can actually get a perfect even at the moment it becomes beige, you can actually look for the beige color for hit perfect as well as touch. The change is easier to understand than the sharpness of TOUCH, but it would be a late perfect, so be careful.

Touch

Touch marker banner.png
  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: from the back
  • Animation: A white square spreads from the back. In accordance with this, the letters "touch" (触)appear while rotating.
  • Speed: fast
  • Timing: When the white rectangle is fully expanded. When the rotation of "touch" stops.
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Distorted “touch” letters fall into the back of the screen
    • Good: Light blue flower
    • Great: Yellow flowers, green butterflies stopped
    • Perfect: A large pink "flower" character, with pink flowers in the background and butterflies flying
  • Background with complementary color: Dark

This marker is between Flower and Mirror Ball for speed. Its recommended for players looking to increasing their reaction abilities.

Banana

Banana marker banner.png
  • Type: Gauge
  • Direction: From above
  • Animation: The bunch of bananas with strings descends and "catch" is displayed
  • Speed: a little bit fast
  • Timing: When the bunch is down and "catch" is displayed
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: A monkey flies towards an unripe green banana but swings
    • Good: A monkey clings to a banana that leaves green on the edge and is lifted
    • Great: A monkey hugging a banana and swaying left and right, the background is light blue
    • Perfect: Monkey fills the screen with bananas, the background is orange
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

Similar to Yubiko marker, but the main difference is Banana has no rotation and bounce. Because the bananas are smaller than the panel, it can be difficult to grasp the timing.

Fusuma

Fusuma marker banner.png
  • Type: Ripples
  • Direction: From left to right
  • Animation: The sliding doors close from the left and right. Fast at the beginning, suddenly decelerating just before closing, and closing tightly at the end
  • Speed: a little slow
  • Timing: when the fusuma is closed
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: insects, grassy background
    • Good: rice ball with a turquoise background
    • Great: samurai and thunder, yellow-green background
    • Perfect: A princess wearing a kimono and holding a fan, with a slight pink background
  • Background with complementary color: blue/dark

This marker is basically a modified version of ripples marker (closing left to right instead of ripples top to bottom). Display speed is slow, so it is easy for timing and accuracy.

Judgments are easy to tell apart, and backrounds don't tend to interfere with the animations.

Picture

Picture marker banner.png
  • Type: Left right
  • Direction: Starts in upper right corner, goes down to lower left corner
  • Animation: The entire screen is painted with a brush
  • Speed: fast
  • Timing: When the brush reaches the lower left corner, press for perfect
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late:A small blue picture of a man
    • Good: Color drawings of children's graffiti book-style crayons
    • Great: A black and white landscape painting displayed on the frame, with clouds flowing in the picture
    • Perfect: A color landscape with a woman in the picture frame, clouds flow and a woman's hat flies in the picture
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

The speed is fast and it is hard to get used to, but because of how flashy it is, its good for dealing with blind spots.

Effective for low level (BASIC/ADVANCED) EXCs and reaction training.

Yubiko

Yubiko marker banner.png
  • Type: Yubiko
  • Direction: From above
  • Animation: After the head falls, it bounces a little and returns to the center, then makes one rotation in the center of the screen. At the end of rotation the hair turns green and "TOUCH" is displayed on the hair
  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: One turn, hair turns green, and "TOUCH" is displayed
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: A red cross mark is displayed and the red-haired Yubiko cries
    • Good: Blue-haired Yubiko is frightened
    • Great: Yubiko with orange hair gets angry
    • Perfect: Ordinary yellow-haired Yubiko rejoices with a heart
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

Yubiko marker is unique because of the fact that the head bounces back up after hitting the bottom, and then does a rotation. Since it falls, it is easy to understand the order of occurrence and the difference between a square that has already been hit and one that is still in the process of forming. This makes it easy to spot out chords in the madness of harder charts.

Since it bounces delicately with a certain rhythm during rotation, it is easy to obtain accuracy if you press it accordingly. The colors are so vivid that you won't be confused by the background.

The change in judgment is quite large, it may be suitable for aiming for EXC. Yubiko is one of the few markers (with Firework and Bower) that have a LATE indicator. When hitting an EARLY good, great or perfect (or a spot on perfect), Yubiko's hair will be grey, However if you hit a good, great, or perfect and her hair is green, then it is LATE.

Stealth

Stealth marker banner (ripples).png
Stealth marker banner (knit).png
Stealth marker banner (copious).png
Stealth marker banner (saucer).png
Stealth marker banner (prop).png
Stealth marker banner (Qubell).png

Stealth marker, with no approaching animations. Judgment animations are the same as those of each version's default marker. Hold markers are still shown if matching opponents are present.

jubeat knit

knit

Knit marker banner.png
  • Type: Gauge
  • Direction: From bottom to top
  • Animation: yellow wool is being knitted from below
  • Speed: a little slow
  • Timing: When the knitting covers the entire screen and the "TOUCH" becomes visible.
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Dark red glow
    • Good: Blue glow
    • Great: Blue-green shine
    • Perfect: Amber glow
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

Slow tempo, so it is good for songs with low density, but bad for high density. Becomes difficult to see on songs with many vertical patterns.

When trying to get a perfect, be careful not to hit too early, as the word touch comes up rather quickly. Some disadvantage for people who are not tall. There is a high possibility that your timing will be wrong.

Concierge

Concierge marker banner.png
  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: From the back
  • Animation: The entire panel is painted in flesh color, and the nose of the concierge gradually approaches from the back.
  • Speed: Somewhat slow
  • Timing: When the nose of the concierge comes to the front
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Concierge disassembles the cube
    • Good: Feeding carp in the pond
    • Great: Pudding in the background, a smiling concierge faces
    • Perfect: Various things are jetted from the head of the concierge
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

Since it uses prominent colors from the moment it comes out, it is a top class countermeasure against blind spots. Display speed is faster than Fireworks and slightly slower than Bower.

jubeat-kun

Jubeat-kun marker banner.png
  • Type: Gauge
  • Direction: From the bottom
  • Animation: After the edge of the panel is surrounded by white, a pale flame that covers the whole panel appears from the bottom, and the pattern of jubeat-kun appears in it and fades out.
  • Speed: Somewhat fast
  • Timing: When the blue haze behind jubeat fills the screen
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Red jubeat gets it's head hit by a falling pan
    • Good: jubeat-kun (the first jubeat) droops and shakes his head
    • Great: Light blue jubeat ripples shakes its hips
    • Perfect: The yellow jubeat knit jumps happily
  • Background with complementary color: Dark

Since the edge glows white, you can grasp the order in which it appears like with Firework. It becomes easier to press if you aim for jubeat itself in the middle of the panel (similar to aiming for the center circle in Firework).

The background "dark" makes it much easier to see. On the contrary, it becomes hard to see if you use the background "blue".

Color Composition

Color composition marker banner.png
  • Type: Left/Right
  • Direction: Top left corner and bottom right corner
  • Animation: A yellowish green rectangle spreads from the center to the upper left, and at the same time, small figures are drawn into the lower right rectangle
  • Speed: Somewhat fast
  • Timing: When the yellow-green square has spread out (when touching the top and left sides of the panel), when a detailed figure fits in the lower left corner
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: White and gray squares appear
    • Good: Red, green and yellow rectangles rotate
    • Great: A colored area surrounded by straight lines spreads out
    • Perfect: Colorful circles and rectangles spread out
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

Good for straight linear patterns due to its wavy fluctuations.

Stopwatch

Stopwatch marker banner.png
  • Type: Ring
  • Direction: All
  • Animation: The time until perfect is displayed by counting up from 0.0 to 10.0, and the upper and lower bars stretch to the left and right clockwise and a solid white bar moves counter clockwise hitting the bottom left and upper right corners. Only the beginning is colored yellow.
  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: When the count reaches 10.0, when the upper and lower bars are fully extended, and when the white bar reaches the bottom left corner and upper right corner.
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: The numbers 0.0 in red
    • Good: Gray screen with numbers mixed with static
    • Great: Black numbers are disappearing on a blue screen mixed with static
    • Perfect: 10.0 letters and fine numbers glow in rainbow colors
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

The white bar is very easy to see and the speed is not as fast as other markers, so it is easier to react to instead of looking at the numbers.

Unfortunately, although Blue is listed as the recommended background color, in reality all the background colors including blue tend to make this marker difficult to see, even dark. The GOOD judgment on a dark background and the GREAT judgment on a blue background blend into the background, making it very difficult to see.

Nengoro Neko

Nengoro neko marker banner.png
  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: From the back
  • Animation: A cat is rolling from the back
  • Speed: somewhat slow
  • Timing: When the cat comes to the front
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Black cats lined up with their backs to the player
    • Good: The background of a cat is blue
    • Great: The background of three cats are green
    • Perfect:The background is orange and a splash of many cats with a rainbow appears
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

The slowest of all the Cyber type markers.

jubeat copious

copious

Copious marker banner.png
  • Type: Shutter
  • Direction: Square + center
  • Animation: The shutter closes from all sides, and at the same time, a square block fills the center.
  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: Shutters from the corner closes in and forms a diamond and the word "TOUCH!" is clearly visible
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Glows dark red
    • Good: Glows blue
    • Great: Glows green
    • Perfect: Colorful glow also has an effect similar to an explosion
  • Background with complementary color: Blue

Because of how bright this marker is, it is easy to get early greats. Make sure you're able to see the diamond in the middle before pressing, it appears earlier than you would think.

Circus

Circus marker banner.png
  • Type: Yubiko
  • Direction: From the sides, bounces up to the middle.
  • Animation: A spotlight is displayed, and a white ball (ballerina) bounces from the left and right toward the center
  • Speed: Somewhat slow
  • Timing: The moment the ballerinas appear in the center
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: Purple light (without animals)
    • Good: Cat in the blue light
    • Great: Sea lion in the green light
    • Perfect: Elephant in red and yellow colorful lights
  • Background with complementary color: dark

This marker is similar to Yubiko due to the bouncing animation. Some say it is easier than Yubiko to time with due to how much the Perfect animation stands out compared to the Yubiko Perfect animation, especially when sight reading a chart.

Kobi Fukurou

Kobi fukurou marker banner.png
  • Type: Cyber
  • Direction: From the back
  • Animation: Owl flies in from the back.
  • Speed: Normal
  • Timing: When the owl is closest and the face is facing the front
  • Judgment animations:
    • Early/Late: 5 small feathers fall (no owl)
    • Good: Three blue owls fall upside down
    • Great: Green owls fly in a group
    • Perfect: One owl is up and winks against a flashy background
  • Background with complementary color: Blue.

Slower than the Flower marker, so if you're looking for a Cyber type marker but Flower is too fast for you, this one might suit you.

This marker has a Late indicator, the owl will shift his eyes to the left with an "annoyed" look on his face if you miss the perfect window. If you press when he has this face, you will get a late Great or Good.

It's recommended to turn off the combo counter when using this marker as the owl can become obscured by the combo counter.

The Perfect color and animation is the same as the one from saucer. Some say this is a Yubiko type marker because of SHOT-CYO-U's rotation, however some say it is a Ring type due to the fact that there is no bouncing animation like Yukibo and Circus have.

Considered a joke marker, its more used to showcase instead of actually using it for normal gameplay.
