Talk:AC DDR A

Round 1's site lists a DDR US version coming in June, though it doesn't say which one. Their Twitter feed says something similar (though they imply that the old DDR USA is the target): https://twitter.com/Round1USA/status/718589597425524736. --Thunderbird (talk) 01:40, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Songlist question

Is there a reason we have DDR 2014 songs moved to DDR A's song folder listed on the DDR A page when we didn't do that with the 2013 songs when they were added to the 2014 folder on 2014's? --M.B. (talk) 19:13, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

  • It was just for consistency for how it was shown in-game. --FinalOffset (talk) 22:45, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Lesson by DJ

It seems that KONAMI might have leaked it by accident, as its not listed on the music list on the website anymore. - QueenZ (talk) 08:29, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

EXTRA EXCLUSIVE

I'm not sure if there's any actual information to add, at least for right now. As far as I can tell, these songs cannot be unlocked for use outside of EXTRA STAGE (they were missing the SEALED graphic that was over all of the others). I did not actually play any of them during my arcade visit yesterday though. --Thunderbird (talk) 17:26, 17 July 2016 (UTC)

  • Gotcha. Added a tidbit about New Century as the regular EXTRA STAGE before the EXCLUSIVE system was implemented. --FinalOffset (talk) 22:02, 17 July 2016 (UTC)

Past BEMANI event songs on US version

Something quite strange, but it seems that the DDR songs unlocked in BEMANI SUMMER DIARY aren't appearing as unlocked for me (the whole set shows up only in EXTRA SAVIOR, even though I reached 虹色遊園地 for both games it was in). According to the website, I should have unlocked Sakura Mirage (and I have In The Breeze on IIDX). Granted, this could have been because I had no play data in DDR at the time. Would have to see what happens with event interoperability on the US version if another franchise wide event occurs...or if FLOOR INFECTION ever comes back to DDR. --Thunderbird (talk) 00:25, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

  • There was a requirement with Diary songs on DDR where you had to play them or something, otherwise they'd be locked down.

Song unlocks

I'm not sure which update did this, but at some point, songs that are only accessible due to eAmuse unlocks appear in yellow on the songlist. --Thunderbird (talk) 23:00, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Illegal Function Call's EXTRA SAVIOR folder

This folder name is in English on NA DDR A machines. (see here). Should it be mentioned somewhere? --Thunderbird (talk) 03:11, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

  • Added to the game page. --FinalOffset (talk) 17:07, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

FLOOR INFECTION

Huh, I may be wrong on those songs not being in the NA version. A YouTube video link showing the license credits includes at least the first two songs (I didn't look too closely for the third, since it's name is in Japanese). Yet, I could not find them (I've only reached level 2 MAX so far) when I played earlier today, looking in the DDR 2014 folder and MUSIC SORT S. Puzzling. --Thunderbird (talk) 03:28, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

  • Basically, NA settings in the cab lock all these songs down from being unlocked, no matter what's the status on your card. The real legit reason is because Konami does not consider IIDX and SDVX existing in NA (because those games are just direct JPN imports and not proper NA version releases) so Konami thinks DDR people have no way to unlock these songs. OR, Konami doesn't like DDR people to unlock these songs on Japanese IIDX/SDVX cabs in NA. --UBerserker (talk) 09:06, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

NA specific timing

Shouldn't we use North American dates instead of Japan ones for things that are specific to that region? (Such as the New Generation songs being unlockable) --Thunderbird (talk) 05:36, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

  • No, because the event ended and the way the newgen songs are unlocked now is a world-wide eAMUSE thing --UBerserker (talk) 10:04, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

"The new agreement supplants the previous Dancemania partnership."

Um, where was THIS information found? Also, Universal Music OWNS the Dancemania label in Japan now.

While we're on the subject of Dancemania, I've been still waiting for someone to post the Japanese DDR SuperNOVA cabinets that supposedly still mentioned KONAMI having a deal with TOSHIBA-EMI, since I'm pretty sure KONAMI just individually licensed tracks starting with SuperNOVA. (None of which appeared on the SuperNOVA OST, which was published by KONAMI themselves.) --M.B. (talk) 04:45, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

I found a video that shows the SN AC songlist screen, and the various rotating title labels from EXTREME and prior are missing. So I'd say it's reasonable to assume no deal was in place when the game released. I can't find a video of the attract sequence though. I did find one for SN2, which contains no mention of Dancemania anywhere in it. --Thunderbird (talk) 16:47, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

Endymion Difficult -> Ace For Aces Difficult can unlock Endymion Challenge??

Saw this was edited a couple of weeks ago and was surprised. There's definitely at least one livestream video out there showing that at the time Endymion Difficult was allowed to unlock Ace For Aces, a pass on Ace For Aces will not unlock Endymion Challenge (it must be gotten to via Endymion Expert). Was this requirement relaxed recently? Zowayix (talk) 22:41, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

I don't know. Many of my edits are careful interpretations/cleanups of information that's already on the page. For example, this was on the page at the time: "ENDYMION's CHALLENGE chart can only be played after clearing ACE FOR ACES as the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE." I do know that one requirement was relaxed already, that ENCORE EXTRA STAGE is available from ENDYMION DIFFICULT rather than EXPERT, and from AA+ rather than AAA. If you can confirm that EXPERT is needed to unlock the CHALLENGE chart, feel free to edit it. --Grif (talk) 23:12, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

AAA was never required to advance to Ace for Aces. Also, I suspect the Challenge chart for Endymion still requires accessing the encore stage from its Expert chart (bemaniwiki certainly seems to think so). Cause if you think about it, if you need to use the Difficult chart to even get to Ace for Aces, the Challenge chart on Endymion is probably going to murder you. --Thunderbird (talk) 01:42, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
