Let's begin!

Po Po Pop...

What shall we listen to today? Want to choose? (Well?)
It's on Hi-Speed 3.5, but that's nothing to worry about! (Yes?)

I got carried away with playing around with the blue button
And now the timer has counted down before I could fix it

Colorful buttons are falling down guerrilla-style
Leaving me to mash all the buttons in a barrage in order to clear!

Sometimes I fail, ending in a sad result, but
I won't fret about it. Okay, let's start Pop'n today

Happiness is something we can make in our lives
Even from hitting notes to create sound
So push the red button to begin the fun!

Yellow shirt and green sandals and white cap
Today's the 1st day. Let's begin!

Po Po Pop...

The voting by the poppers was really fierce, and there were many songs coming in with almost no difference in vote counts.
Even though it was extremely troubling, we finally chose this song as a pop'n 20 public contest song.
When I first listened the "hajimaru yo!" shout, it left me a strong impression as it brilliantly intertwined with the lyrics, and I gradually liked this song more as I heard it.
Actually, there were quite some other songs sung about pop'n, but this song stood out as the most straightforward among them, with "pop songs in pop'n" and the worn out "pop'n-styled" definition.
I think this melody feels the most appropriate to include in pop'n 20.
It's not just this song, but well, it feels like I was taught various things from everyone this time.
Thank you very much!

PON

Among the original public contest songs, I think this is the most perfect song to commemorate the 20th game.
This song is really flowing with love for pop'n, and the excitement before playing pop'n is expressed in the melody and lyrics.
We want more people to become gamers! To include such wish, we made it relatively easy to play.

It's not just pop'n, I think each person enjoys music games in their own way.
It's fun to unlock songs.
It's fun to try your best to play difficult songs.
It's fun to improve your progress.
It's fun to carefully listen to the music itself.
This song reminds you of the "fun spirit" of music games.
This song somehow has a mysterious charm.
I hope this is a deeply memorable song for everyone who plays and is involved with pop'n.

red glasses Yuuji

To pop'n and music fans across Japan, nice to meet you, my name is red glasses.
Thank you for allowing me to receive this award for the Minna de tsukutte public song contest, and I'm lucky to be able to play my own song in pop'n music. Thank you very much.

When I received the first stage pass email, I remember feeling too excited on the train that I stood up.
When I heard the songs which passed the first stage, I was somewhat shocked by the high level they were at.
Even if any of them went through, no one would think it's strange.

This song's characteristic is "pop'n-ish", which was just composed as "love for music games", and I wondered if everyone received that feeling, but this is how I'm able to leave a comment here, so I'm really happy.

pop'n-ish elements are scattered everywhere throughout this song.
The lyrics are about things I usually think when playing pop'n, like the distinct flavors of pop'n such as "I wish life is like pop'n music" and "me too".

I'll be very happy if everyone can sing "popop! popop!" in the beginning and ending sections while playing it. If there's someone grinning behind the cabinet, it's me.

In order for it to feel like everyone is singing and to make it more pop'n-ish, I increased more "po po po"s in the chorus after the voting. It's cheerful!

The bass and drums were performed by fellow musicians Seeya and Guu.
I'm really thankful to ayu, who sang the difficult melody without a single complaint.

Since it was given the somewhat very honorable genre name "POP'N POP", I hope many music game players will love this song for a long time.

Lastly, I'm sincerely grateful to everyone who has supported me. Thank you.

I'll keep playing it until I can clear the EX chart. I'll try my best.

ayu

My name is ayu, who sang Like a pop'n music!

When I received the demo from Yuuji, Like a pop'n music felt very pop'n-ish, and I remember anxiously waiting to finish it.

I was expecting the lyrics as they were completed, but it was difficult to sing (the original demo sound rhythms were strange, and had too many octaves!), so I was quite troubled.

The first "hajimaru yo~!" shout was my suggestion, and was used as I've been playing pop'n for around 8 years!

My idea was included in Like a pop'n music, and although it was difficult to record, it became a memorable song for me!!

So this song was included in pop'n...! The genre name POP'N POP is lovely!

I'm really impressed and moved!!!!

Well, when I hear my singing voice coming from the cabinet, although I'm certainly happy and embarrassed to see many BADs appear, I want to relax and have fun, just press the red button and play a lot!

I'd like everyone to play it a lot!! Please take care of it~!

Guu

This song and lyrics perfectly suit pop'n!
I enjoyed playing the drums for everyone to enjoy!
By all means, please try to play "Like a pop'n music"!

Seeya

If you play this song, you'll surely be Happy!!

Character Information

shio

red glasses, congratulations on your song being included!
Since the colorful song and lyrics included many pop'n words, I also made a character with a pop'n design.
"... When the hearts of players, pop'n cabinets, and Mimi and Nyami become one, a blue and red singing woman descends on a rainbow field..."
It feels like I've heard this legend before. Somewhere.

The first thing that came to my mind were the pop-kun muppets singing the "popopo" chorus.
In the recorded version there is more "popopo" chorus from the staff, and it's truly "Minna de tsukutte".
I'll also co-star with everyone through the character animations! I made her with such enthusiasm.
Let's sing "popopo" with nonet in the game♪ And I'll be happy if you enjoy it.
By the way, nonet means 9 ensembles.
With 9 buttons and everyone's hands, I hope your performance surroundings are gradually expanding!

pop'n music 20 fantasia

A girl who loves singing, dancing, and playing games.
When everyone is playing pop'n, she'll appear out of nowhere and further excite your play♪

shio

Everyone in red glasses, congratulations on your song being included!
I hope you'll also love the character, how was it?

When I listened the nominated songs, I was really happy that this song~ could only be created by those who played pop'n a lot.
As I said when the results were announced, since the lyrics were very colorful and filled with pop'n words, I'll certainly have a 5-colored pop-kun appear! And I started working on this idea.
And it's a fusion of a singing woman, Mimi and Nyami, and a pop'n cabinet. Perhaps, the card on your belt says "passhi☆".
And her 2P color is the Animelo color.
Furthermore, I chose a yellow shirt and green sandals from the lyrics. (The white cap is a SunnyPaMimi reference!) When nonet loses, the blue pop-kun will be played with, so pay attention to it~.

Afterwards, I continued to fully listen to this song on loop while I energetically enjoyed making the animations. Thank you very much for this lovely song.
Popopo♪ Please enjoy it~♪

Staff Comments

TAMA

Personally, this felt like the most suitably made song for this event.
The rhythm and tempo are great, and anyways, this song has an enjoyable mood.

Come to think of it, the names of the two characters used were unusually my ideas.
The most popular were "Meteor" and "Kyuu-chan", which don't make sense as expected..

masaru

Well, I love pop'n! It really conveys that feeling very much, and this will become enjoyable.
Popopo~ it won't leave my mind!!

Chihi

This is the most unlikely genre name.
It wasn't the sound staff who made music for pop'n, but it was rather a public contest song! This somehow seems roundabout, but it's very pop'n-styled.
I'm happy to be able to experience this kind of lovely song together♪
The woman's singing voice is very gentle and I love it, and I hope this kind of pop'n image can be reflected in everyone's hearts.

Otsu

Po~ popopopoppo~ popopoppo~。

Ga~su~

It's no exaggeration to say that this is already the pop'n theme song!
Popopo~ seems to be addictive.

tokky

Popopo~. This song made me happier the more I listened to it.
Is such cute girl in the pop'n game, or does she love pop'n?
Either way, she's cute. I wonder how long I have to play pop'n until she appears!

eimy

Among the team members, there were many interactions like "popopo?" and "popopo!".
POP'N POP is abbreviated to popopo. "I'm going to popopo" = I'm going to record the popopo chorus.
When I first listened to it, I said "oh~, you're loved~", even though I'm not a member of the team, but it was so good that my elbow felt damp and cool, and I felt embarrassed, yet I was really moved when I saw nonet dance together with the song. The very end of the notecharts was packed with a pop'n-style, and I couldn't clear it☆

Mameshiba

As usual, I participated in the chorus, but you almost can't hear Mameshiba.
You can feel a faint presence at the "saa" part.
Since it's a chorus, it's pointless to assert too much individuality in it.

Half of the genre name contains 'p'.
Let's celebrate the 20th game! I think this song is appropriate for 20.
You can use the phrase "We love pop'n music!" in various places, but it first starts from "I like (a) pop'n music.".
If the literal translation of "I love you." is "the moon is beautiful", does "We love pop'n music!" mean "let's play pop'n"? Maybe not.

The character is also made with a cabinet motif.
I was surprised by 2P, as expected.
She has broad shoulders, so please take care of the rhythmic orange colored woman!

PON

red glasses composed this song of course, but I was in charge of the acoustic guitar, and was part of the unison chorus alongside the rest of the pop'n team, which perfectly became a "Minna de tsukutte" song.
In that sense, it's a deeply memorable song, as expected.
Although wac was mainly in charge of the notecharts, I particularly remember Ga~su~ fixing the charts around 100 times.
Our wac tried his best!!

wac

Regarding so-called "POPS" songs in pop'n music, the genre name "POPS" appeared in the first stage of the first pop'n, and you can say it defined "pop songs in pop'n music".
14 years later, I'm extremely moved that the "pop'n-styled pops" definition was used from the perspective of a popper who played pop'n.

I still don't have answers to "pop'n-styled", or rather, although it feels like I don't know the answer when I gradually make songs, there's no doubt this song is "pop'n-styled", and it seems many people think so because pop'n has continued being made and there's proof it has been passed down to everyone who plays it.

Therefore, that's why it's called "POP'N POP". It's packed with "pop songs in pop'n" that everyone have made together.

And when this song was included, there's a bit of magic in it.
In order to make it more interesting for the game and have a "everyone makes together"-styled song, I first performed magic on Yuuji and everyone.

Anyways, although it was difficult because I didn't really have time, and I interacted with Yuuji like if it were eye drops from the second floor, this song was personally memorable to me.
I also made the notecharts from scratch after a long time by cutting button waveforms!
Anyways, since it's a pop'n song, let's pack it with every skill in pop'n! And I put all my effort in making the EX chart, but Ga~su~ told me "I'd like a more standard chart for this song, wac's chart is too obscene!", and I couldn't clear it around 200 times (I intended for a standard chart), so I have good memories of eventually having PON fix my obscene charts that I couldn't clear.

pop'n lovers make pop'n songs for pop'n lovers.
I think that pop'n is a very happy game with these kinds of songs in them.
