Talk:FANTASCAPE - Act.1

So this is less about the album itself and more about the songs.

Recently I brought out my copy of FANTASCAPE Act.1 from my shelf and want to add the missing long version lyrics of Arata's songs. Then I noticed there are differences between the game version of the lyrics already in the wiki and the long version in the album. Some are just different typesetting, punctuation, or more troubling, simply embarrassing or fatal typos. Some of the typos make me suspect the mistakes might have come from transcribing by ears instead of sourcing the OST booklet, if not just simple carelessness, since some of the differences altered the meaning.

(I'm surprised it seems this hasn't been addressed yet for Kazuasobi in particular considering the correct albeit with different typesetting long version is here.)

Now my question is, should we make changes to the game version lyrics (and maybe long too) according to the album long versions or keep them as is? Of course if the differences came from the booklet we can keep them (with obvious typos removed), but I don't have IIDX OSTs or scans of them to do crosschecking myself.

Also, it doesn't seem there's any glaring mistake in BALLAD THE FEATHERS' lyrics, but since I'm planning to add translations too, I'm wondering what to do with the game version's translation in term of consistency. Obviously my translation has differences from it since I'm not the one who wrote the old one, but I think it would be rude if I replace it without asking if it's allowed or not. --Erikartika (talk) 17:04, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

• The game size lyrics are (for the most part, as sometimes they just include the long ver.'s and omit the game size) taken from how it's shown in the song's respective OST booklets (though sometimes KONAMI seems to mess up in the lyrics section), and I try to update, if there's any change, the lyrics if the song shows up in another OST. For the long versions, I would go with how it's written in the album booklet. I guess for now, you can change the lyrics to how it's shown in the album booklet and I'll try to double check later with OST booklets and take photos of the booklets to compare. • In this case, I would prefer to keep the lyrics with the most recent (and most correct I guess, I don't own FANTASCAPE) printing, so if you can update the lyrics for the aforementioned songs, it would be appreciated.

About BALLAD THE FEATHERS' translation, the user who made it has not contributed again in 9 years, I think you can update it too. Would like to see other thoughts in this matter. --FinalOffset (talk) 19:09, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
